Itunes won't sync music to my iPhone5!!

I just updated to OSX Mavericks and I have the latest update for iTunes, but when i sync my phone to my macbook pro and try to put my music on it, nothing happens. When it gets to part 4 or 5 (whichever one is the part where the music get's sync'd) it just skips over it and finishes. I have been stuck for so long, I have tried looking at support sites etc... but nothing is working. I tried downloading songs from itunes, and from the internet and nothing will sync. Advice would be greatly appreciated!! i am so frustrated, i have tried syncing over wifi and thru the cord but it doesn't make a difference. it's like this happened out of nowhere. thanks in advance!

If anyone has this problem or finds music that is greyed out on their iPhone or iPad, the unscary way to fix it is do the following, it took some digging to find the cure:

1. Open up the Music app on the iPhone.

2. Along the bottom menu, select where it says 'More'

3. Select the last entry called 'Shared'

4. Select 'xxxx Library' if you currently have 'xxxx iPhone' selected

You will now find that no longer do you have anything greyed out or not syncing and is way quicker than deleting your music library (and less scary) than re-syncing.

This cured all issues for me. Beats me why Apple would hide this without a clear explanation.

You just need to delete all music and re-sync. It takes awhile to re-load to the phone but it worked for me! Pretty easy too!:

Unclick the "Sync Music" box (in the "Music" tab) in iTunes with your phone connected to the computer.

On your iPhone, go to Settings>General>Usage>Music and delete it all.

Sync your iPhone (the music should all be gone now but you may have a couple playlists it decided to keep for some reason - no worries!).

Reclick "Sync Music" in iTunes and......Apply!

Bam!

Happy bug fixing! 🙂

My bad, I was doing the steps that Randeelsis put on here and the only problem (which has been the major problem) was that its always stuck on "waiting for changes to apply." Therefore the sync never actually finishes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes 3 times and the problem is still there.

Instead of hijacking this thread, try searching for "waiting for changes to apply":

Many of the threads have steps to try.

This is a reguarly-occuring problem that can be caused by many things, so troubleshooting it may take a while. Hope you can find a solution!

I have tried that several times and it always gets stuck on the last step. And I think I know my problem now, I think all my music tracks were corrupted and iTunes and my iPod couldn't cooperate with them. So I guess I'll have to delete all of them and re-download them again. Most of my music didn't come from iTunes so I assume there is a patch with iTunes. But I do appreciate all the advices!
