Ipad air low memory crash

I came to this forum to see if other ipad air owners are experiencing same problem with low memory crashing as I do but seems like I'm one of the few people have this. So far I have 10 low memory crash reports. I also have about 30 more crash reports but it's from various apps. I got my ipad air on the launch day, second in line, here in California. Maybe I just have a defective one, I don't know. If you have same issues, please reply so I can determine if I should return it or just live with it. Closing apps every day is a hassle. I wish Apple just put in extra gig of ram. Overall, I am extremely happy with my ipad. There are so many good this things to mention about this ipad but this is wrong thread to do that.

I received this email from a support engineer yesterday:

QUOTE:

I suspect the issue is not related to iTunes, but to your iPad Air itself. You deserve to speak with an officially trained technical-support expert at this time. Please contact our technical-support team if these Knowledge Base articles, which I have provided to you as a courtesy, do not resolve this issue.

Wow - now that's a worry... Was I not already speaking with a technical support team member when I contacted your support service then apple?

Thanks for the warning Lsmith. If that happens I will return the ipad air and an email to Apple's senior management clearly explaining things will be the next step. I've complained directly to Apple's senior management in January 2013 after I had a problem with my new Mac mini. They responded and provided some compensation in form of price reduction.

My apologies, I do have the the App with the note. Baffles me why I didn't see it. A senior moment I guess. (I'm 67) :-)

So I tried your procedure again, just now, 4 times, each time with a different movie and TV show. Did not crash.

My suspicions from the beginning was the problem is related to the Air because of my experiences with iPhone4S and iPad3, BUT, it is now 8 days after the clean wipe and hard wire re-install of iOS 7 without a crash. It seems everyone here has a different set of circumstances and issues. My opinion is just speculation.

After getting the crashes in Safari and then doing the iTunes Store movie test posted by another user my iPad Air crashed again and again whilst try to preview a movie.

Went to Apple Store today and they adviced I do a full restore and set up Air as new, so don't bring down my apps etc and then see if the problem still happens. At the point of doing this I wasn't sure which button to press in iTunes to restore so phoned Apple support and explained what was happening and what button do I need to click. After I was sure what I was doing I hit the restore without backing up my Air as had a backup version that was day old. What for it to download abd install and then said set up as new device, followed the Air onscreen instructions to connect to my wifi and Apple ID and once done run iTunes again to preview an HD movie.

CRASHED CRASHED CRASHED CRASHED CRASHED

So at the point of the Apple Store visit they had no idea of this issue and couldn't find a hardware issue, at the point of phoning Apple support they didn't know about it and said that once I had restored and the issue continued that it was likely a hardware issue, so after restore and crash phone Apple support again and they have booked me in to replace my Air.

I bought my ipad air on the 29th November. From the day that I had started using it, it had crashed and restarted countless times. Apps would drop, especially Safari and Facebook. And the ipad itself would restart, requesting to refill all my iCloud information like on startup. Eventually I had enough, took it back too apple on the 4th and had it replaced. So far my new iPad air has been fine until about 2 hours ago. I downloaded adobe reader. On opening the app, the iPad crashed & restarted. I have since had several browser crashes as well. Not very happy. I hope this is a software issue...because aside from the crashes the device is great.

Etype2, the fact that you were unaware and denying even the exist of the iTunes app (when you could have very quickly searched your device) is evidence that you are far from even being an intermediate user of the iPad.

As I stated earlier, the crashes are happening more frequently to heavy/power users who are proficient with the iPad, and push the hardware harder than a light user would.

My laptop routinely uses over 2 GB RAM when I have multiple tabs open. For those people who frequently use multiple tabs when web browsing, there simply isn't close to enough RAM.

Did you follow up with Apple after the support person advised you to contact technical support?

Apple certainly has internal support tiers. The agent was trying to tell you that the resolution to your issue was above his pay grade to resolve. You know that there has to be an internal ticket on this issue that is probably sitting in the application support / hardware integration team. Who knows, perhaps a fix is passing through QA at this very moment. It would be nice for apple to admit there is a problem and give us status. We are their customers me deserve honest responses from them.
