iPad Air Freezing

I have a new iPad Air which I got on the 1st. In the past two days it has frozen and required a hard reboot. Anyone else having a similiar experience?

I am not using a Belkan Keyboard. After a couple of days, the problem seemed to self correct. Have not had an issue for the past week. My model is 128gb with about 72gb free. I have not applied the latest patch 7.0.4 as I have been on travel. have a number of 10w apple power adapters which I thoiught might have caused the problem since the new adapter is 12w. But after additional use, didn't seem to make a difference. I also reduced the number of notifcations/automatic updates that might have had some effect at fixing the problem.

I also have the Ipad Air 128gb and it has locked up several times since I bought it. I just had to do a reboot so I decided to see if I was the only one having this issue. I also upgraded from the Ipad 2 which I bought the day it came out and it has been really stable I only recall rebooting it twice in the past 2 years and I have already rebooted the Ipad Air over 4 times in 2 weeks. I'm not happy about this trend.

My iPad Air has been spontaneously re-booting, usually after a Safari freeze. I've been looking at iPad bags on various sites. There is usually pictures of the goods I'm clicking on when I get the freeze. Maybe my iPad doesn't like my choices 😉.

I'm not using any BT keyboards. I've got 60 GB left on the drive.

Seriously, the freezes and re-boots are a problem. I'll do a full reinstall this weekend. I hope that helps.

I searched this bc I'm having same issue. 32gb. Freezing a lot. More so recently. Last night when trying to upload a photo to one of my shared streams, and a lot on Safari and chrome.

I found this too. Can't be coincidental. http://www.techradar.com/us/news/mobile-computing/laptops/apple-fesses-to-keyboa rd-and-trackpad-freezes-on-some-new-macbook-pro-laptops-1195131

I'm getting screen freezes in Apple Mail, and dumped out of iTunes, Safari to the Homepage. Did a restore from backup. The restore from the iCloud hung at 3/4ths the way through. Did a backup to iMac, and a restore. Same issues.

I was advised to do all of this by a call into Apple Care. Then they made an appointment for me at local Apple Store. Apple Care said they would replace it. Apple Genius said I had to erase the iPad and not reinstall from backup. They just wanted me to download all my music, and apps. I'm still getting some issues. I'm supposed to wait a week and take it back tot he Apple Store. Great, just in time for the Thankgiving shopping mahem at the mall!

I'm not sure a new one is going to fix these issues. But I hope they do replace it, because there is nothing left to try.

So is taking the iPad Air to Apple store and returning the iPad the only option? I have the same issue too. Thought it was the keyboard that caused this issue and replaced with another keyboard but find the same issue again. Froze at least 5 times so far and had to cold boot several times. Was worried as it did not boot for several minutes also. Reading all, looks like going to Apple Store is the only option? P

I'm replying to myself as an update. After calling AppleCare and doing a restore from backup I still had the same problems. I was then told by AppleCare to reinstall. Same problem. I was then told to go to the Apple Store and they would replace the iPad. The Apple Store Genius said no. Burn it to the ground and don't reinstall from the backup. Wait five day and come back if the problem remained. It did.

I didn't wait five day. Over the weekend I got more crashes on Apple apps. They then said they would replace it with an iPad that would take five days. I said that was not acceptable. They finally did a retail replacement.

So far so good, but I am not updating to 7.04. Who knows, it could be a software problem or hardware.
