iPad Air Freezing
I have a new iPad Air which I got on the 1st. In the past two days it has frozen and required a hard reboot. Anyone else having a similiar experience?

Another update. I've contacted a Senior Advisor at Apple. I've updated to 7.04. Hopefully this will fix the Safari blowouts/crashes. We shall see. Maybe I got a double whammy of bad hardware (before the replacement of my original iPad Air, and software issues). Apple needs to hear these problems. So just don't sit there, pick up the phone.
Same. Stopped using my belkin keyboard (or any bluetooth accessories) and have not experienced any crashes since. Hope it gets resolved quickly. Use the Ipad Air for business.
Just an update on what I've seen.
This has been happening consistently me for me, every day, for over a week now. I do not have any Bluetooth accessories so for me, that is not the cause. I plug my iPad in every night and for the last 4 days when I wake it and type in the PIN it has frozen and required a reboot. Typically it will need one or two more reboots during the day but it seems that the more I use it the less it freezes. I successfully gave a 1 hour lecture using it on Saturday with no problems.
I did notice last night that my wifi backup to iTunes was stuck with iTunes trying to cancel the backup. It had not done a full backup for 2 weeks. I quit iTunes and re-established the wifi sync and then did a full backup overnight. I was hoping that this might improve things but first thing this morning the iPad froze again.
I have not yet done a full backup and restore.
I'm using the Belkin Qode Slim Style Keyboard Case with iPad Air and encounter the freezing issue at least once or twice a day. 😟
Add me to the list Of 128 GB Air Ipads. I have 98 GB of free space so that can't be the issue. I am using a zagg bluetooth keyboard. Issue almost always seems to happen out of a sleep state although I have had a few reboots just happen while using the device. It seems to be happening more frequently as time goes on. Currently 2-3 times a week. I really don't use it that heavily though. I new I should have waited for the new nexus 10. Hmm maybe best buy will let me return it?
For me, I'm convinced I've fixed the problem, it was the wifi backup.
To re-cap, my iPad Air was freezing and required a reboot every morning and multiple times a day for about 2 weeks. I then discovered that my iTunes wifi backup had not been working and iTunes on the Mac was trying to cancel it. I removed the device from iTunes, reconnected it and did a complete wifi backup. The next morning it froze again and I rebooted it. I've now gone 5 days without a problem. I didn't do a complete restore, just a successful backup. I have not changed anything else (I was already on 7.0.4). I don't have any Bluetooth accessories so there may be multiple causes of the problem but for me, the wifi backup that was stalled seems definitely to be the problem.
DrScott, So you think it is a problem with the Icloud backup? Are is it the wifi back up to your pc? Wireless PC sync? It can't be the cloud because everyone whould have that problem no matter what OS platform.
Malinois1, I'm not sure about the iCloud idea. For me, I had iTunes on my mac setup to do a wifi backup of the iPad Air to my Mac (not to iCloud). This setting carried over from my previous iPad. It seems that about 3 weeks ago the wifi backup stopped working. When I looked at iTunes on my Mac the dialogue box said "cancelling wifi sync" and the icon was just spinning. I couldn't manually cancel the sync so I ejected the iPad from iTunes. I then re-established the connection and did a successful wifi sync overnight. I had one freeze that next morning but none since. Given I was having them first thing every day and then multiple times throughout the day for 2 weeks and now I haven't had a single one for 5 days, I think that's pretty clear evidence I found the problem. The only extra caveat I'll put on this is that I just checked and iTunes hasn't managed a wifi sync since I did it manually. The difference this time is the icon in iTunes isn't spinning, there's just the exclamation mark and the settings box says the last successful sync was December 2nd. I'll set it going with another sync tonight but I think it's the wifi sync to a Mac. I have no evidence that a sync to iCloud is also a problem.
I have got the iPad air 128Gb. I too have the apple logo reset problem. I don't use Bluetooth at all I fact it is turned off.
I have tried to reboot and reinstall with and without using a back up.
I'm on my second iPad air 128Gb now still with the same fault.
I'm now waiting for TNT to come and pick it up for a refund. Given up with it going back to old faithful iPad 3 64Gb.
I hope you all the best with a fix.
Gang, I recently replaced my 32GB Ipad Air which was experiencing all the problems you are having (mine crashed 3-5 times per day w/ Apple BT Keyboard, and also the Adonit Jot Touch drawing pen). I wanted to wait until a sufficient amount of time had gone by before replying here, but I can report that after more than a week of using the replacement machine, I have had ZERO crashes occur.
Clearly there is a bad batch of Ipad Airs that went out there. I was hoping Apple would publish a fix (hopefully they still will do so), but it appears to be resolved in my replacement machine. You should be able to order a replacement at your local apple store (mine took 2 days to arrive), if they don't have your model readily in stock for replacement.
Cheers.
Mine has mysteriously quit locking up. I have had a lock up since Dec 5 All I did was connect to PC and synced it. I made sure wifi sinc was off and it was. I also made sure Icloud backup was off. Finger crossed this fixes it. If it does I will turn back on Icloud sync and see what happens. One thing at a time until I find what is causing it.
Mine kept playing up and I never used WiFi sync or iCloud. So I can rule that out.
I'm having a similar issue. iPad air will freeze atleast once a day forcing me to do a hard reset. Yes I do have a Blekin QODE Ultimate iPad air case. Disabling BT and doing a restore does not resolve the problem. The interesting thing I have noticed, is that if I gave it 5-7mins, the iPad will reset on its own once the lockup occurs. I have an appointment with a local apple retail store tomorrow - will update all on what I find.
My ipad air has frozen a few times since I began using it on launch date. But is now freezing and rebooting almost hourly since I started using the Belkin Ultimate keyboard. I make sure to turn off bluetooth when not using it. I've been using an PDF annotator each time, and was assuming I was pushing the limits of the app, but I'm not doing anything unusual.
Don't really know which way to go - try to return an expensive keyboard or replace the air?
Same problem here but it's still happening
