iPad Air Freezing
I have a new iPad Air which I got on the 1st. In the past two days it has frozen and required a hard reboot. Anyone else having a similiar experience?

My local Apple retail store just replaced my iPad Air. They ran diag on the machine and found numerous apps were crashing. They weren't sure if it was software or hardware related and did say that this would be the first hardware repalcement they have done for the iPad Air.
I would strongly suggest you all contact support and get a case created and then have it replace/serviced. Per the Genius bar tech "Simply putting it on a forum doesn't get your issue resolved"
I still have the QODE Belkin connected to the replaced air and so far so good - no freezing! #fingerscrossed 🙂
I am having the same "freezing" issue and using the Belkin QODE iPad Air Case.
Seems to be an issue with the keyboard paring process. My iPad seems to freeze whenever I leave it docked and everything goes into sleep mode. I would have to do a hard reset to get everything back up.
Does this happen if the iPad is folded up and closed?
Thanks.
mhspoon,
I am not using the belkin but was having the same problem. I do however have a zagg bluetooth keyboard case. Mine happened only ever when it was closed, I would open it the screen would get on unlock screen but was totally unresponsive. The only thing is that it has not happened for 2 weeks now. It was starting to happen more and more...it stopped after I sync it to my pc via itunes. Not sure if that is what solved the problem or not. Sorry if I gave more questions then answers. LOL
Bummer....my 128G air is also locks up....had it for about a month. This is not a coincidence....
Are you using a bluetooth keyboard of any kind?
Update - on my experience on working with Apple support.
Apple replaced my iPad and unfortunately the problem still exists.
Per Apple, I set up the new iPad air as a *new* device and DID NOT restore from backup.
I'm still using my belkin qode ultimate keyboard but this issue happens with or without a BT keyboard - at least for me.
Back to the drawing board - contacting apple again
Update - my problem still exists on the replaced hardware
Not for me, I replaced my 32Gb Air, restored from a backup on my computer, and have not had a single lock-up for over 2 weeks now.
I have a 128gb Air and no cell carrier. Also no key board and WiFi never turned on. Still almost daily when I am closing a window, usually Safari or mail (but has happened with others) it will freeze up with the screen I was trying to close maybe half its original size. Rebooting with the power and home screen buttons solves the issue, but very frustrating. I have over 100GB of free space as I am affraid to load anything else onto this thing. Gave my iPad 3 64GB to my wife and I never had a single issue with that...what a mistake!
Yes I have the same case and problem. Mine occurs when the iPad is paired and idle. However mine just powers off by itself. It is very annoying! Might be a bug in the bluetooth?
Me too. 128gb wifi & cell....no Bluetooth usage, no a case, still get freezes, but not as bad as browser problems though. Neither safari nor chrome works for long. And the mono mode only plays one channel.
Not really good enough.

I have the same exact issue as you. When I leave the iPad Air docked onto the QODE case, I would walk away and when I return 30 mins - 1 hour later. Everything would be off and I won't be able to turn it back on unless I do the home + power button.
I took the advice of someone and tried syncing with my PC hoping that would fix the issue. And now I am running into the freezing issue where a letter key would be stuck "m" key it would type that letter many times before freezing.
Very strange, haven't tried using the iPad without the keyboard/bluetooth.
Apple tried to give me a third iPad Air 128Gb but I refused and got a refund but I had to fight for it as I have had it over a month.
What made it worse I had to wait a week for the replacement to arrive at the Apple store even though I was sent there to get a replacement on the first visit and they didn't have an instock.
Very bad phone support they should have made sure the store had one in for me.
At the end of the day. Are people thinking this is an Apple issue? Not keyboard manufactuer issue?
I was thinking about contacting Belkin to see if they have a new version that would fix the bug.
I'd have to say it's not a keyboard, wifi, or cell carrier problem sine I have the issue with no cell, wifi off, and no keyboard...Therefore it has to be a software issue or an Apple issue.
