Thanks 1Goofy,
Has anyone out there with ios 7.1 been able to test if the bugs are fixed? I know that version is only available to developers at the moment.
Thanks
yes....bluetooth keyboard....seal shield
Had this keyboard on my old ipad .... first version....never had a problem.
Hi I have been having same problem with no Bluetooth involved this is my first IPad it is 32 , did a complete reset per customer service today without reinstalling my info from the cloud yet. Had not ever synced to the cloud or any other PC either. Had 19 space left before reset, my problems have been a lot of crashing with safari it will just stop and throw me back to home screen? I am new to Tablets and touch screens so I thought it might be I had touched it wrong. The reason I contacted customer service was the other problem I was having with the screen not responding to my taps didn't know if it was normal to have to touch it several times to get a response sometimes or not. Turns out it's not. Will be talking to customer service again today about replacement.
I have had a 32g iPad Air for 3 days and have had to do a hard reset -pressing the home and power button for about 6-8 seconds. It seems to freeze when it has been left idle for a few hours. I have performed this reset about 8 times now and it is becoming a tad of an annoyance! Please sort this out Apple. It is Christmas!
Philexe - Are you using any sort of Bluetooth Keyboard/accessory?
No only the keyboard built into the iPad! Mhspoon
i have had that same issue except i have had my ipad air for two days and it has frozen 3 times and for like 5 mins then the screen turns blue for a sec then off. any have a solution.
New iPad Air purchased in November 2013. Running smoothly until today. Screen frozen with movie playing (The Incredibles).
Troubleshooting attempts:
- push Home button fails to return to Home screen
- double push Home button fails to display app switch/kill interface
- press and hold Home button successfully launches Siri but unfortunately Siri cannot initiate the restart, shutdown or kill app commands
- press and hold Sleep/Wake button for 15 seconds fails to display red swipe to restart option
- press Home button and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously successfully snaps screenshot image
- simultaneously press and hold the Home button and Sleep/Wake buttons for 5 seconds successfully rebooted the iPad Air and it restarted in functioning condition.
Hopefully this is a rare incident and not the beginning of a decline in iPad Air experience.
My iPad has been replaced after carrying out all of the diagnostics and a complete factory restore! The replacement seems fine!
Same problem. Purchased my 32 GB iPad Air less than 2 weeks ago and it has frozen and required a hard reboot 3 times in the past 5 days. I have never had a problem with Apple products before, and this is discouraging. I do have a Kensington BT keyboard, but it sounds like most people with this freezing issue don't have a BT keyboard so I doubt that is part of the issue.
The same problem here. This is not a minor problem.
Reading through this issue I now know I'm not going crazy - iPad Air 64GB/Wifi, no bluetooth keyboard. I turned off bluetooth and saw some improvements, didn't last long, still need to kill safari to get the page to load. I have also noticed if I have a number of Apps running in the background I need to kill them. Even when loading facebook it takes to long or just fails to load, there is something definately wrong - but not sure what's causing the problem. Some test results on safari --- loading cnn.com took 23 seconds / apple.com 46 seconds / bmw.com 1 min error - safari could not open page as server stopped responding / killed safari (hit home button twice and removed safari) launched safari again and bmw.com loaded in 8 seconds. I hope somebody in Apple will read this!
This has been going on for too long! I first reported this several months ago. It is not a small problem and it is unlike Apple to not respond to this in a more professional and urgent manner. I'm ALL in with apple these days....iphones, ipads, Big Macs, back up to the cloud, with this much technology placed in one company's hands my expecations are high for their level of service. I have had excellent experience up to this point. Their on line service has been spectacular....their locals...they speak english, they solve problems and if they can't figure it out they elevate the issue to get a solution.... SO step up Apple....Lets' AIR this out!
more results - I have tested the same web pages on my wife iPad 2 v's my iPad Air and they load twice as quick on the iPad2.
