Apple mail does not sync with gMail

Today my Apple Mail no longer provides me with my gMail in the inbox.

I can send mail to my gMail address and it shows in the Sent box ...but it never makes it to my Inbox.

If I log directly into Google Mail the email message is there.

This has always worked before.

Also, just now I downloaded and installed the Apple update for Mail ...which said it fixes some gMail account issues ..but I still have the problem.

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

What's your other account? As far s I can tell, Airmail will work with any IMAP account.

Also, in response to an earlier post: As far as I know, the only way in Airmail to get your personal domain to work if you run your domain through gmail is to forward the emails to a gmail account. Because Airmail is alias-friendly, you can make it look like your replies/new emails/etc are coming from your personal domain.

Of course, "as far as I know" may not be very far . . . 😕

A support request to the Airmail team might also answer this question (if it hasn't been answered already).

Fede N/lucamenna, I don't disagree at all. Neither you nor I should have to spend additional money. I also paid a lot of money, and I received wifi issues, the sleep issue, sound issues, etc. None of which Apple has shown the least bit of concern for. I just can't lose more time and money hoping for some integrity from Apple to emerge (which I believe is what Apple banks on - for us to give up). They have no integrity, and they will stay silent - that is cheaper than morals I guess. For the additional $1.99, at least I don't have to be constantly reminded of it. I am still reminded when I sit waiting for my WiFi to reconnect.

I'm not indifferent, in fact I prefer to act by relegating my Gmail account to the status of Junk collector. And to be clear, I have never had any problem with Mail and Gmail, it worked in the past and still works now. I just have no wish for my emails (and contacts etc) to become a revenue stream for Google. I will decide who sees my emails, not Google.

There are plenty of cheap Gmail clients and even more alternative free email systems, most of which work rather better (in any client) than Gmail does.

If you're using Gmail then use Mailplane on your Mac, it is far and away the best Gmail client.
