After log out of a network user the user is still connected in file sharing. After some time users have multiple connections in file sharing when they are not logged in. It seems to have a negative impact on performance and problems with e-mail.
Anybody with the same problem?
That's an interesting discovery MWBALND13. It only happens with Mavericks clients. Lion & Mountain Lion clients disconnect properly and the Activity Monitor is clear of previous users. I can't test it now since were in the middle of the semester, but if anyone else updates to Yosemite please let us know if the problem persists.

Are there any new experiences with 10.10 clients and/or 4.0 server?
I just tested this out with a network user on a 10.10 (Yosemite) client with a 10.6.8 server, and the problem appears to be resolved in Yosemite. I may update one lab (21 workstations) and give it a go for now.
Yes, the network users are now properly disconnected on 10.10 clients, but there's now another problem with the keychains of these users.
