Mavericks Bug Macbook Pro Menu bar goes black

I am having a bug happening with my new macbook Pro i7. The Finder's Top menu bar turns black when opening the computer from sleep.placing the cursor over a menu item causes the item to appear but again turns black once the cursor is moved. Anyone having the same issue? here is a screen shot:

That did it for me (all I had just done was quite a application), forcing a restart of the SystemUIServer (via activity monitor) and the icons in the menu bar reloaded but the background stayed white did nothing so it seems to be a bug else where

Late 2013 MBP retina here with OS X 10.9.4

I don't see the bug to often, tho it seems to be a very old bug in OS X

This is from over 6 years ago

Thanks Apple a day! I looked this up and found https://getsatisfaction.com/apple/topics/macbook_air_osx_menu_turns_black

Here's the one that worked for me ...

clicking the notifications icon on the top right hand corner of the menu bar makes it go back to defualt color. It is the one with the 3 dots and 3 lines next to the magnifying glass. Works for me each time. I think it goes to black when the battery gets low.

- I also saw this option but decided not to uncheck Translucent menu bar as I like it for now.

"The "Go to Desktop and Screen saver preferences. Uncheck "Translucent" menu bar, black bar should go away" Works for me too. "

All the best. Doug

Mark me down as sharing this issue. Apple products are really starting to go down hill. I switched over when OSX first came out - because their products WORKED.

Now they are getting junked up with features I never use, and I suspect this is what is making them buggy.

It's Windows all over again. The company gets big and successful, and is populated by throngs of staff who seek to justify their jobs - and every bit of software is chucked full of useless code that simply causes bugs and destroys reliability.

This is currently happening to me. It only started after I began using a dell USB 3.0 dock w/ Displaylink. Most of the tips above make the menubar revert back to normal, but once I click the menubar, it goes back to black.

*Early-2011 MBP 15" i7, OSX 10.11.4, 8gb RAM, SSD.

My display is also very jumpy, but I suspect that to be a bug with the Displaylink software. Has anyone found any further insight into this issue? I figured it would've been solved by 2016 iterations of OSX.
