App updates are not showing up in iTunes

I have a notification of 14 apps for updating on my iPad and 15 apps on my iPhone. Yet, nothing is appearing in iTunes on my MacBook Pro / OS 10.9. No matter how often I click "Check for Updates", I am told that there are no updates available for my library. When I check the version numbers of the apps in my iTunes that appear on my iPad & iPhone, they are a version below what is available.

This has only started happening in the last couple of days.

iTunes-OTHER, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

I have the same problem; on my ipad it says there are updates available for some of my apps, but they're not showing up on my itunes.

I was having the exact same problem (stopped showing app updates after 12/12 - I'm in the USA).

Anyway this is how I fixed it...

I had a number of really old apps purchased under an OLD (ok ancient) Apple ID. I went through and trashed every single app that was purchased with the OLD ID. Once all 'those' apps were removed (leaving only my current iTunes Apple ID pruchased apps) the" Check for App Updates" option worked!!!

How do you find apps that are purchased under a previously used Apple ID?

iTunes > Apps > List (view) > sorted by Purchase Date.

Find the oldest one, then right click and "Get Info". Look for Apple ID in the window - if it's your current Apple ID hit the "Previous" button.

Continue hitting "Previous" (letting the Get Info window refresh) until you find one of your Apps purchased with your old Apple ID.

Once you find one, close the Get Info window, then delete that App from iTunes. (I sent the apps to the trash because I have backups)

Continue through the ENTIRE list. It's important to go through the entire list because recently updated apps under the old Apple ID will be up higher on the list. Yes it's a pain, but it was worth getting iTunes back in order (showing available App updates).

Again, I was having this problem, but removing apps under my old Apple ID resolved this issue...

Hrm, that doesn't really work too well considering I have over 10,000+ apps. And a mix of apps from my US account and my Canadian one.

And no, I'm not seeing any app updates for Canada, except this time it's on Windows as well. It feels like it's an Apple-iTunes thing more so than anything else...

@worf I hear ya. The apps under my old ID were not current so it didn't hurt to remove them (in my case).

If my memory serves me, this has happened before and it took Apple a few days to fix it on the store side of things. Hopefully it wont be much longer. I prefer to update via iTunes instead of directly on my devices.

Not sure why the steps I outlined above worked for me, especially since others with only one Apple ID are also having the problem.
