App updates are not showing up in iTunes

There is a workaround. Just update your apps on your iOS device, then transfer the purchases using iTunes. It's not a great solution, but it's a good workaround for people who NEED their apps updated.

Same problem here in Thailand. The problem just started about 4-5 days ago. No updated apps show up at all in iTunes on my PC. When I open iTunes hoe page in iTunes, enter search for App that I know there is an update, the app page show up as update available in iTunes and when I click the update button, the update started.

Fix pleae Apple. This is the first time in many years for problem like this in iTunes

I'll add my name to the list. The problem started on 12 or 13 December 2013.

iTunes 11.1.3 (8) on a Mac running OS X 10.8.5.

Just putting in my 2 cents - I originally thought it was related to my migration to an SSD (the updates stopped coming in the same day) but this afternoon I discovered that my media center Mac Mini hasn't updated since the same day. Chacked my wife's MacBook and that makes three out of three not updating since last Thursday, Dec 12th.

I use two different AppleID. When i remove the applications of an AppleID - i get normal update notifications.

It doesn't matter which AppleID apps I keep (I have one in Lebanon and another in the US).

This is weird.

If you know what apps are updated, you can go into the App Store via iTunes and click on 'Update' there (I just did this). That still works.

Note that if you download them to your device and then let iTunes copy them off of the device, the apps are likely to take up much more disk space than if you downloaded them directly in iTunes. If you have some huge 1GB+ app when downloaded (like Real Racing 3), it could have been expanded and will eat up 2.0GB+ when you copy it to iTunes. If iTunes downloads directly, it will only take up the space specified under Details in the app store.

I figured this out when I had a mini with only 150GB disk space...made a huge difference.

I have an iphone and ipad with Updates showing up in their "App Store" icon ... NOTHING in itunes ......

Turned on my other machine - iTunes showed 52 Updates - then they all disappeared. This is an issue no doubt. iTunes is not picking up updates. In Australia!

I have to do them manually. Going into the app and tap updates. No pop up is showing up 😮

Same problem here. Germany, latest iTunes 11.1.3.8 on Windows 7 not showing any update, iPhone and iPad running iOS 7.0.4 showing available updates. I do have two active iTunes Store accounts (not all apps are available in all stores :-( ).

Abdullafr, it surely isn't the problem. I have only one AppleID I used from the first day I loaded apps, noone else uses my computer, and I see no updates in iTunes.

Same problem here. Belgium and Hong Kong Store (not all apps are available in all stores).

Would that have to see with our problems?

Not only "Check for Updates" can NOT work, the function "Check for Available Downloads" also can NOT work.

Before Christmas, Apple have a ton of things to be done.

iTunes 11.1.3 64bit on Mac OS X 10.9

System: Mac OS 10.9 with latest iTunes 11.1.3

iTunes accounts: 2 accounts, a dutch main iTunes account and secondary US iTunes account. Both have different Apple ID's and emails.

Problem: in my case I see no updates on my Mac only. They pop up on my iPhone and iPad devices. This also happened in the past was in most cases resolved in a couple of days. Now it takes much longer !

Fix: see below steps

1) open iTunes in most uses main account

2) select Apps

3) select list order

4) delete apps from NON-main account (i.e US) In my case I only had to delete 2 apps.

5) seach for updates

6) tadaaaa 🙂

Now I will wait for new updates to be released today and see what happens when I put back the 2 apps from the US store...
