There is no such setting. The closest setting is Do Not Disturb mode. If DND is enabled the phone will only ring for VIP calls (those in your Favorites list) when the phone is locked. You can optionally set it to ring if the same number calls you twice in quick succession. Go to Settings/Do Not Disturb to see your options.

I also have this issue with my 6s, all my contacts frustrated as I am not able to reach, I thought its service provider problem but even after changing service provider this issue still continuing, reset all settings just now, now the repeated calls button checked ON by default, seems this is the workaround, as I could test it by locking and after few min tried with other phone, the first call dropped but the autorecall could connect, saw one missed call notification still as the autorecall on other phone was set without time delay it dialled back. I see so many coming up with the problem faced by them on this matter, hope Apple support will come up with some solutions

As that's not a word in English, it's still not clear what you mean. Did you mean "Voila!"?

"Voilà" isn't English either 😉

Well, that's debatable. It is, indeed, a word of French origin. However, as about 80% of words in English are borrowed and "voila" is found in the Merriam-Webster dictionary and the Scrabble dictionary, I'm going to make the case that it's now an English word. 😉

I have tried everything in this thread: toggling the mute above volume, turning off Do Not Disturb, rebooting my iPhone 7, Allow calls from everyone, but there is still a blue check next to Only while iPhone is locked. My only choices are Silence Always or Only while iPhone is locked. I've checked in Control Center to allow Access on Lock Screen, I've toggled the little moon off and on...everything. Now I am trying to just have no lock on my phone, which is dangerous but I can't keep missing calls! Unless anyone has another idea, it's back to the phone store, but as I live in Europe that is miserably difficult.

There are two choices under Settings>Do Not Disturb>Silence: Always and Only When Phone is Locked. One of them has to be checked. You cannot uncheck them both. But this is the important thing: that setting only matters if you turn on Do Not Disturb. If Do Not Disturb is turned off, that setting does NOTHING.

If you have Do Not Disturb turned off and you do not have the mute switch enabled, something else is causing you to not hear your ring tone.

Do you have a case on your phone? If so, take it off and check the mute switch again. Some cases cause the mute switch direction to be reversed. Some cases that don't fit well push the mute switch to engaged when the case is on.

One other thing to try. Go to Settings>General>Accessibility>Assistive Touch and turn it on. Then, tap the white spot that appears on the screen of the phone. What does the icon ad the the 12 o'clock position say? It looks like a bell. If it says "Unmute", tap it. Once you've done that, you can turn Assistive Touch back of if you want.

Thank you, I missed that the first time I read your message. I did add the Mute bell to the Assistive Touch feature and made sure it was unmuted. It did not work. In desperation I hit on the idea of "resetting all settings" under Settings > General > Reset. Now all my sounds are working again, including the ring. Phew. I've never had that happen before! Thanks for all the advice.

Reset all settings is a bit of a nuclear option but, sometimes, it's worth it. Glad you got things working again!
