I used 1234 as recommended by another user. I didn’t recall ever setting a PIN for restrictions and now it seems it was set during an up date. I would suggest before resetting phone try the default 1234. Work for me

Hi! I don’t know where to go to get to the file Macintosh HD. It is no where in my computer, and yes I already backed it up.
Macintosh HD is not a file. It's the name of the system hard drive on a Mac.
If you are using Windows, you won't have a Macintosh HD, and as such those instructions don't work for you.
If you are using a Mac, but you don't have Macintosh HD drive in Finder, then your system drive is likely named something else.
So what does that have to do with the restrictions passcode, which this long thread is about?
Start your own thread, and explain in as much detail as possible what is wrong instead of hijacking an unrelated one, and someone may be able to help.

I have forgotten my restriction passcode what to do
To quote the post immediately above yours, "You either remember it, restore to a backup that was taken when the code wasn't on the phone, or reset the phone back to factory defaults."
Can it be sent to me
No it can't, it's only stored on the phone so there isn't anywhere to send it from. If you can't remember what you set it to restore to a backup taken before you set it, or reset the phone back to factory defaults.
What happens when you try to access them ? Do the apps show in the device's homescreen (if they do you haven't hidden them via Restrictions) ?
Do I need to restore the phone?
If you've forgotten the Restrictions passcode you would need to restore to a backup taken when the code wasn't on the phone (or reset the phone back to factory defaults).
Thanks for the info. I tried this, but it gave me two different things with<integer>XXXX</integer>. I tried the first that had four digits, but no luck. The second one reads: <integer>-1</integer>
Any clue what that means? I'm beginning to despise Apple!!!!!
I had this same problem and contacted apple support. To make this brief, he informed me to restore my iPhone as a new phone which will lose EVERYTHING!! There is no way apple can reset the password. This ***** and needs to be another way.
There is no way apple can reset the password.
There won't be, the code is only stored on the device, it's not stored on your account or anywhere else to be able to be reset by them.
If you have a backup taken before you put the code on the phone you can restore to that instead of resetting to factory defaults.
Unfortunately you cannot. There is no way to recover a restrictions passcode directly on the iPhone without a third party app as that would render the passcode complete pointless.
The only way to remove the passcode is to restore the iPhone.
There are apps out there that claim to be able to read a backup containing the passcode and show it to you. But I have no experience with them, so cannot comment on any of them.

Tell Me Restrictions Code To Turn Off
No can tell you what the restrictions code is. It is set on the device, and only the person who set it know what it is.
If you forgot it, you will need to restore the device to remove it. Follow the steps posted many many times alread7y in the very thread you posted in.

How do you reset you restrictions passwo without knowing it?.
Follow the steps posted many many times already in the very thread you posted in to remove it. You will need to restore the iPhone to factory settings.
I've forgotten my son's iPad restrictions code and I want to reset this with minimal data loss since he has a lot apps and data that he uses for school and study.
I've tried using back up software to retrieve the password data but it seems Apple has now made it that you can either back up with encryption, which saves passwords, or without encrypted, which does not save PW info.
I'm wondering if I back up the device without encryption, then I restore the iPad to factory settings, then use the non-encrypted back up to restore the iPad, will the restrictions setting be gone but minimize data loss?
The Restrictions passcode will be included in a backup, irrespective of whether or not you encrypt the backup - you will either need to remember the passcode, restore to a backup taken before you set the code, or reset the iPad back to factory defaults.
If you forgot it, you cannot change it. You need to restore the iPad to remove it and set a new one as has been explained many many times over in the very thread you replied to.
Otherwise, if you know the passcode, you can go to Settings->Screen Time->Change Screen Time Passcode and change it there.
