msvcr80.dll

Downloaded new iTunes version and got a "msvcr80.dll is missing". Reloading, re-installing, nothing helps. Can someone help me with very, very simple instructions? Otherwise I need to wait for the next update on iTunes. Previous version worked just fine.

Tried everything you guys suggested but nothing works. Tried restoring to earlier version. Downloaded itunes at that point and installed but did not work. Got icudt49.dll this time. Not sure what else to do. Seems I can't remove some of itunes completely. Have been at this since the update yesterday. Could use some help!! Remember..I have tried every suggestion mentioned here...Help!!

Try again, but use whichever of the two links at the bottom applies to your system...

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)

Remove all of these items in the following order:

  • iTunes
  • Apple Software Update
  • Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
  • Bonjour
  • Apple Application Support

Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Please note:

Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

I've faced the same issues when trying to update to the latest version of iTunes. It is important to clarify, that I have done it on my 4 Computers, 3 are running on Win 8 and 1 - Win 7. So, the above mentioned error has happend on two of four computers only - 1, on Win 8 and 1, on Win 7. These two computers are used for synchronizing and backup of my two iPhones. However, on those, which are not used for the backup, the upgrade has been done succesfully, without any error. So, I have solved the issue by manually uninstalling all Apple Programs, except iCloud, dowloading the latest version of the iTunes and reinstalling it from the beginning. All my Libraries and the iPhones a nd iPads backups hasn't been lost.

I have also tried every suggestion. I uninstall all apple programs and restart my computer. As soon as my computer restarts I get a message about the MSVCR80.dll being missing. This happens as soon as my computer reloads. I am not sure why. I tried to go in and delete the files like the post suggested but they say I need premission. I have administrator rights. I'm not sure what else to do!
