Downloaded new iTunes version and got a "msvcr80.dll is missing". Reloading, re-installing, nothing helps. Can someone help me with very, very simple instructions? Otherwise I need to wait for the next update on iTunes. Previous version worked just fine.

I did tho, opt out of getting automatic updates! 😉

The same has happened to me. I thought if I updated with icloud my music would be safe. Now I've lost it all and itunes won't load!! Can anyone help??
If I do this will I still have lost all my music?
Your music should be fine... See this slightly revised version of the earlier advice...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

I will wait until we get an official response from Appple with a fix of some type.

DID NOT WORK. now I get a message during the itunes install that the apple mobile device support service is missing.
Same issue. So ****** right now.
Did not work for me. I got an error during the re-install of intunes related to Apple Mobile Device Support. WHen I skipped that, itunes installed and I get the same C Runtime error.
Forgive me if I've asked elsewhere but have you tried the more detailed steps here:

Alternatively have you tried seeing if using Repair on Apple Mobile Device Support from within the Programs and Features control panel has any effect.

Go to Control Panel Programs and delete all Apple Products including Bonjour/Quicktime...Anything that lists Apple as the author. Restart computer. Re-install iTunes
It happened to me today when I updated iTunes and got the same message. The fix works and I have my iTunes back...No thanks to Apple...Whats with these guys?

i've tried to uninstall and re-install several times and it doesn't works.
i just read your "step by Step" guide, and in my case i cannot "run as Administrator" due i'm the only person allowed to use the Computer, then i only can execute the file (no option to choose)
any suggestion?

Ok. So now I have removed itunes from my pc... rebooted and downloaded. Each time website says "thank you for downloading itunes" but it's nowhere to be found. Usually you have to give permission but nothing comes up??
