I guess after a while we all have slightly different things hiding in our Windows setups, so there's no guarantee a fix will work on every PC.
Indeed. 😐

Moving the DLL files and uninstalling/reinstalling worked for me. BUT, I still have the DLL files on my desktop. What do I do with them now??
Throw them away.

thank you so much-worked perfectly. Now how do I trust any iTunes update in the future?
You're welcome. Hopefully there will be very extensive testing before the next release, but you might want to wait a few days to see how others are getting on before you dive in. 👿

Have you followed the additional folder removal steps, such as given in Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates. If not please try again. If you have could I please have the precise error messages that you get now when you try to start iTunes?

I followed all of the steps to delete and reinstall iTunes and I am still getting the message to reinstall...is that because I am still running on Windows 7? Is anyone else having issues with Windows 7 and iTunes??
To Turingtes2 regarding the R6034 error message I ket getting. Followed your steps at deleting various apple programs, restarted my computer, reinstalled Itunes and....shazam, it worked perfect. This chat room was a real gold "mind" of information for me, considering I was determind to solve this problem without having to pay someone to do it. Thanks again.
I have tried all of the suggestions but cannot remove Apple Mobile Device. I moved on to the next and uninstalled all but that one. When I rebooted and reinstalled itunes I got the same r6034 runtime Error. I went to restore and chose a date that I knew itunes had worked. But after the restore, I received the same error plus one that said AdCore.dll file is missing. I'm stuck now since I cannot install iTunes. BTW, along with Apple Mobile Device not uninstalling, iTunes does not appear in my list of installed programs, so I cannot clean the computer of all apple software.
Tom
AdCore.dll is a component of iTunes, it would normally be replaced by repairing or reinstalling iTunes.
Have you followed the additional folder removal steps, such as given in Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates? If not please try again. The key information is in the two boxes, but the first is unlikely to apply.
