Thank you for all your help. looks like you have been kept busy today!

Going into safe mode helped. However, at this moment in time i still have no itunes, when i click to download it all i get is a page thanking me for downloading.

I tried the Microsoft fix you suggested to someone else, that repaired somthing or other. But i give up for today.

I did also get Error 7(1114) yesterday so i will have to look into that.

Once again, thank you for your assistance 🙂

My issue is when I click the "Download Now" button on the iTunes site. When I do, a window appears indicating I "have chosen to open: iTunesSetup.exe" and it asks me to save the file...which I do. When I go to find it, it's not there. I've tried saving on my desktop, a "downloads" folder, all over. It's not saving on my system...or at least I can't find it. Help.

Hmm. I found I had one error following the reboot. I installed iTunes and it has since worked just fine. If you're getting that error with iTunes uninstalled then which application is referred to in the error message?

I wish I had a solid answer for you, but I'm just a fellow user sharing what I have found through research, and trial & error.

A tool you might find useful is Autoruns. I've used in the past to selectively disable troublesome startup items.

Unfortunately the window doesn't show the application, i see "Program: C:\Programm..." (my pc is in Italian, I have a folder named "Programmi" instead of "Program Files")

I checked the system events registry but didn't find any entry about that popup windows.

I checked msconfig but nothing appears to be "strange"

Obviously I'm not upset with you, sorry if I let you think so. I consider dishonorable that apple doesn't do anything to solve the problem they created.

Tomorrow I'll try Autoruns, now it's late and I'm too upset ... I'm considering to go with "format C:\ ".

Thank you for your suggestion.

Goodnight 😉

First I have to give a HUGE Thanks to turingtest2 (Also to be honest I don't go on any discussion boards and leave any comment). I did hit a few bumps in the road but after 4system restores, Approx +100 Runtim error R6034 another 40+ Error 1114, multiple Microsoft updates including 1suggested from iTines, purchasing PC 360 Helper (which I do have to say I really like and 2 attempted uninstall as suggested by turingtest2 (1st failed 2nd worked) my issues an 4-5 nights of headaches are gone.

I do have to add 1 thing. I couldn't totally remove every file from C:/Program Files/Common Files/Apple and the Apple file in Profram (x86) Files. I had to go into Apple Properties and change some File, Folder and Subfolder controls to Full control as well as attemp to advance edit to allow special controls to User Froup as well. After attempting multiple times to gain full control over the Apple Folder, I decided to open the folder and Delete its content manually. I was able to Delete 3 of Files in each folder. (I believe the only reason I was unable to remove the final folder inside the Apple file is because it contained multiple iCloud files which we were not instructed to Uninstall soon no matter how much security control I have myself under the Properties of the Apple File, because of iCloud as wel as atleast 2 other Apple products that were not suggested nor did I choose to uninstall myself, 1 folder had to remain in the Apple File). I did choose to Unistall Quick Time Player and Safari the 2 Unistall as an added precaution. I do not know what might have been the reason for the 2 install working and not the 1st but I am just happy it's over and I can just move on.

So if you might have a problem as big as mine. Don't give up hope. Just explore a little deeper and possibly uninstall the other 2 Apple products just as an added precaution. It might have been that extra little edge I needed for iTunes was able to successfully install the 2nd and LAST TIME.......I Hope!!!!

I have windows xp. Removed all the programs but the mobile one. Went to reboot, and my laptop completely crashed. I get a black screen saying it cannot load. I have tried safe mode, last good configuration, "regular" start, and it just goes to a blue screen saying that it's "dumping", then back to the black screen to restart. This just keeps going on and on. So, it never will start up the computer and load anything. Any help would be SOOOOOOOO greatly appreciated.

Alright.. finally got iTunes to install. I had to download version 11.1 ... And that installed and could read the library file. Will have to remember not to update in XP. I think in the latest version they've included iCloud for XP installation too.. which basically makes the installer (and iTunes) incompatible with XP. They need to make that clear.

Reinstall worked fine for me on Windows XP. I suspect some other issue caused the installer to misidentify the operating system.
