It only took me 2 days to solve this despite reading several threads and following several suggestions including tt2's well written instructions. I guess after a while we all have slightly different things hiding in our Windows setups, so there's no guarantee a fix will work on every PC.

iTunes failed installs aside, I kept getting the runtime error message on every reboot until my Win 7 finally responded to Microsoft Fit It uninstalling every little hint of anything Apple from its installed programs list. One last reboot and the error message didn't reappear, and only then did a fresh download of iTunes install OK. Phew!

Am I correct in assuming that Apple haven't commented at all on this issue, apart from offering a 'fix' that doesn't seem to work very well, judging by the number of queries here?

I have tried all of the suggestions but cannot remove Apple Mobile Device. I moved on to the next and uninstalled all but that one. When I rebooted and reinstalled itunes I got the same r6034 runtime Error. I went to restore and chose a date that I knew itunes had worked. But after the restore, I received the same error plus one that said AdCore.dll file is missing. I'm stuck now since I cannot install iTunes. BTW, along with Apple Mobile Device not uninstalling, iTunes does not appear in my list of installed programs, so I cannot clean the computer of all apple software.

I don't know if I'm the only one having this issue......Thanks to tt2 🙂 i completed all steps in order to remove apple products and downloaded the latest version for my Win8 x64 computer. The installer begins (I ran as admin), I am able to select the default file location/shortcuts, upon clicking next a screen immediately appears indicating the following:

Errors occured during installation before iTunes could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To complete the installation, run the installer again.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Luckily, I was able to remove all (even Apple Mobile Device) without issue. I've triple-checked that none of the folders exist any longer (per the seoncd box in the other post - thanks for that post btw). No issue downloading the latest version 11.1.41.62 x64. As I mentioned the itunes installer begins, I am able to click through the screen with the install location and shortcut preferences, as soon as I click the "install" button on that screen the next window indicates the error as I mentioned:

Errors occured during installation before iTunes could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To complete the installation, run the installer again.

Click finish to exit the installer.

The only option available is to click finish and the installer closes.

Thanks for the help! I wish i had found this before i tryed a bunch of different things like trying to restore and i did ininstall all the programs and had some problems but finally removed all componets of itunes then re-installed and everything works great with itunes but i have 2 other problems. after a full shut down. i then power up....enter my password and the desktop opens up fine at 1st. but after all the icons in the lower right next to the clock are done my monitor screen goes dark. i can hear my hard drive working. I put my computer to sleep wait 15 seconds and wake it up and the desktop is back up and all programs work. But on this site and yahoo etc. I am getting script errors as well. this is a windows vista 32 bit.. by the way i also have a windows 7 netbook. got the same ituned error as i did on this computer but this time i followed your instructions and everything removed and itunes re-installed and do not appear to have any problems with that one. do you have any idea what the problem is with my vista machine.

I have had so many problems with this update that it actually messed up a lot of software on my desktop and affected my antivirus.

I have managed to sort out all the issues with the other software issues by put after reading pages upon pages of solutions for the iTunes update 11.1.4 I still haven't sorted it out.

All of the solutions on this page as well as iTunes own solutions for the problem it has had no affect.

I have update all my drivers and windows software to see if that has had an effect and still no joy in installing iTunes.

I have downloaded so many programmes on the advice of others that have had these issues to help solve the problem and again this has had no affect on resolving these issues.

I have uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it approx 20 times, tried a repair on it and again no joy.

I have done a full system scan for viruses and my computer is clean of viruses and malware etc so I am at a loss of what to do.

I have repaired windows Vista from the boot disc and still no joy.

My issues have been: run time error c++ R3034 / error 7 / error 1114

access denied to Mobile device application

Itunes helper exe start up error

Icudt49.dll missing

I Have tried everything and I have no access to iTunes for my iPhone and iPad.

I need help!

Hi all,

I have finally managed to get itunes installed on my PC after 4 days of very annoying issues.

I had to uninstall every piece of Apple software and find the remaining files to delete it off my system and then reinstalled iTunes using Admin installation and it is now working.

My only issue by doing it this way is I have had to start iTunes from scratch and put everything back on it.

But it is sorted, thanks for all your help.

The repair from 'turingtest2' worked for me .... with a little difference

1 Simply removing iTunes didn't work.... something was still hanging it up

--- The files above were reinstalled

2 Used 'CCLEANER' ; some other similar program would probably work

3 CCLEANER : TOOLS / UNINSTALL

4 Uninstalled everything related to Apple as 'turingtest2' suggested

5 CCLEANER : TOOLS / STARTUP / CONTEXT MENU

6 Found three files related to iTunes remaining

7 Manually deleted those files

8 Downloaded new iTunes installation '.exe'

9 Ran the installation 'as Administrator' >> SUCCESS
