You're lucky. It took me six!
turingtest2 - Thank you so much for posting solution to msvcr80.dll which worked for me. After trying to fix this on my own for 3 hours, I came on this site to see if anyone else was having this problem and tried your solution and now everything is good. Thank you!!
You're welcome. 🙂

Do you get your itunes library back after reinstalling?
It will be fine. 😉
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Islining - mine came back fine after the reinstall.
Apart from the hours it wastes, the dll file is used by a lot of other programmes so if iTunes has trashed it, it could have who knows what consequences for other programmes. Apple needs to issue some guidance about whether the dll still needs replacing.
If you look you'll find multiple copies of the dll in different versions and locations. The repair steps given should reinstate the version that iTunes uses.

When you find a solution to get those 3 hours back, same as I lost today trying to get it fixed, let me know! I realize, though, it could have been a lot worse so I'm so grateful to this site for posting solutions. ;-)
Will try have been tortured for 3 days now. Apple owes all a BIG apology!!!!
Thanks to all who responded! Totally worked for me!! I was really getting frustrated until I found this thread!! Thanks again!!
Hi my Hero ( .. :-) ...),
you saved me and iTunes works etc.
But I discovered now that my syncing of Contacts are gone. Added contacts in my iPhones 5 do not find the way from iCloud (that is updated) to my Outlook 2007 Win7.
Thought I could ask you as you are the only one who really has had a good answer to a problem here for me.
Hope .. 🙂

Not a problem I've dealt with but if you didn't reinstall iCloud already I would try that to start with. Better yet click here.
