iTunes Sync Error with iPhone

While sync'ing my iPhone 4S (iOS 7.0.4) with iTunes (11.1.4.62) running on Windows 7, it gets to Step 3 of 6, and pop up an error that reads "Unable to load SyncUICoreLocalized.dll". Tried repairing, and uninstalling/re-installing both iTunes and iCloud.

Any help would be great.

Thank you RegNSW & Stanalet!!! I recently had a massive Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit update & iTunes update and after all were finished installing, I had the same error when trying to sync my iPhone 4s: "unable to load SyncUICoreLocalized.dll" (but iPod Touch 3rd gen & iPad Mini were fine). I didn't try anything til reading this forum first. I went straight to your last suggestions of repairing the Apple Support & Apple Mobile Device using the Windows control panel's programs & features. I repaired both, then rebooted the whole system and everything is now working fine. Thank you so much for posting good detailed instructions for Windows users - saved me hours of frustration.

First, as an Apple stock owner, I want to appologize to all our customers who have faced this issue and not getting much support from the company. Very poor on our part.

As an iPhone owner, who syncs his phone to a Windows 8.1 32 bit PC and Office 2010/Outlook I am VERY MAD!

Like many of you I have spent the better part of a week troubleshooting this issue and finally resolved it last night.

I noticed the problem about 10 days ago when I tried syncing my iPhone 4S to my PC and Outlook. It would hang up in step two or three of the sync and not get past it. When I say hang up, the sync just ran and never completed or got past syncing contacts, calendar and mail from Outlook.

I have printed out close to 300 pages of numerous comments from any site I felt had a credible resolution. Posted Apple company comments and help were worthless in any of ideas which were few.

During the course of the week, I uninstalled and reinstalled Office 10 numerous times. Uninstalled and Reinstalled iTunes (11.1.4.62 current version) many times.

Nothing seem to work and get me past the sync hangup with Outlook. I even tried syncing over Wifi, but same problem. I thought this step would bypass any USB hardware questions. No go.

Finally I decided to restore a 3 week old backup of my entire C drive. I thought that was the last time things worked.

I did so. Upon launching iTunes I get this new error message: "Unable to load SyncUICoreLocalized.dll"

First time i saw this prompt but thought at least I had a new lead to help me.

Upon doing a Google search on that error message, it brought me to this Apple Users Forum.

Interesting, none of the other Apple User Formums discussed the suggestions outlined here.

I tried all of them, but regretfully none worked for me. I even deleted all of my contacts and calendar entries (kept printed copies) thinking I had corrupt data. No go.

I then decided to upgrade Office 2010 and bought 2014 thinking something with Office 2010 is the issue.

$210 latter, I had a nice new looking Office 2014 experience but the sync problem continued.

I then decided to un-install the current iTunes 11.1.4.62. As you know Apple does not keep older versions of iTunes on the site and understand why.

I found a copy of the last version of iTunes (11.1.3.8) 32 bit at : www.oldapps.com/itunes.php?old_itunes=13819

This version is about 3 months old.

Downloaded and installed it and sync issue WAS GONE.Phone synced very quickly.

This version syncs with some issue, but at least it synced! It hung up a few times, or received other error messages, but for the most part, just restarted iTunes, or unplugged the USB cord and plugged it back in.

Or ran the iTunes Troubleshooting script which is under HELP in iTunes.

Stanalet and others commented on the Windows Program Repair efforts. Those steps were very helpful when my 11.1.3.8 version hung up a few times. Also, running the iTunes Diagnostics utility (under help) did start a script that resolved many issues.

I will also pass along some tips from other forums that can aggrevate the sync issue. Make sure you do not have any duplicate Outlook calendar events. For example, a meeting on Tuesday that is listed twice at the same time. Go through and delete the double entries.

Also, Office/Outlook places all the data in one huge .PST file. You need to make sure that .PST file is clean and not corrupt. It is often stored in Users\your name\documents\outlookfiles\your outlook account name.

Do a search on your PC and make sure that is the .PST Outlook is currently using. I had several .PST files in various locations. Outlook archieves old information in archieve .PST files and places them in another folder.

Also, you will have multiple .PST user files if you have multiple email acounts in Outlook.

Inside your Programs Folder\Microsoft Office\root\Office Number 14, 15 etc\look for a utility program called Scan PST.

Open and run it. It will ask you to locate your current and active .PST file. Once you locate it, run the program. It will tell you if if found any errors. If it does, it will ask you if you want to repair them? Say YES. It also makes a backup .PST file prior to the fix.

This may take some time to run, depending on the size of your .PST file. Mine was close to 1Gb.

After it runs for the first time, RUN IT AGAIN! You will be surprised it will find more errors and you want to correct them as well. Keep running it until you get a prompt saying no major or too few of issues were found, so no need to correct. Or something like that will come up.

I guess Microsoft did a great such a great job when writting this utility program, that if needs multiple passes to fix the file. (Really guys?????)

Run SCAN PST on all your .PST files. All email acounts as well as any archived .PST files.

Also, I had numerous Windows un-installs and reinstalls and reboots. Along with and few restore my iPhone cycles.

When I would un-install anything in Windows 32 I would runs the great utility program called CCleaner. It's a free download and has been around for many years.

It cleans out all the system gunk and temp files. Also it fixes registry errors. As you know, when you un-install in Windows, the programs can leave many old registry entries behind. Did not want this to be an issue.

So that's what worked for me.

I hope it helped.

If Apple is monitoring this forum, TAKE NOTE! This Apple Customer/Stockowner is very upset over this issue and the time others and myself have lost.

Stanalet, you are a saver!!!
I have got Sync problems few days ago and since the have surely lost many nerve cells and hours. I have ****** apple for obviously making windows software on purpose that bad. I have installed and reinstalled iTunes severall times, but it did not work and only your trick seemed to work. Nothing is working for me. I have iPhone5, Outlook 2010, Windows 7. I have done the repairs suggested by Stanalet. I uninstalled &reinstalled iTunes. Tried it and it did not work. Did the repairs again. NOTHING is working. Anyone have any other suggestions? It gets hung up on step 3 of the sync. It goes through syncing contacts and hangs up on calendars. I only got the CorelLocalized error once. I did the upgrade that came yesterday and that didn't fix anything either. iTunes is now version 11.1.5.5

Thank you
