Why is there a Spinning Wheel Most of the Time on my Home Screen After the 7.1 Update?

I notice this also. Just checked app updates and there are none available. I haven't noticed an increase in battery drain though.

Turning the phone off and back on makes it stop temporarily so there may be no difference between doing that and a hard reset if some people say the problem returned after doing a hard reset.

No I would say it is a iOS bug as it happens on my 5s and still does so after all apps are updated. How do we go about your guarantee now? lol.

Same issue here, on my iPad 3 and my iPhone 5s. Nothing related with updating applications (all apps are updated) I really don't know why people bother to give random answers without being affected by the issue.

So far I have only tried normal reset but the issue comes back again and again. Now trying the hard reset, but I am afraid the spinning wheel will come back. In my oppinion is an iOS 7.1(.1) bug.

In my experience,I just updated skype app,and that circle's gone..the strangest thing,there is no update badge or notification in appstore for skype app..

For me this spinning wheel also seems to have something to do with updating apps, and a hard reset works as a temp fix. The Skype app seems to have been involved for me, all the times this has happened.

How is this not a glitch Mark? It keeps spinning even AFTER all the updates are done, and no new ones are available. Pretty bold of you to make such definite guarantees without knowing what you're talking about.

Let me clarify. The spinning wheel represents data polling. Meaning one of your apps either needs updating or it's updating some type of content. If u really want to test this. Delete your apps one by one and u will see which one is polling the data causing the spinning wheel. I'm not just throwing out fixes untested. I've tested this on numerous scenarios. Do u not think Apple would at least acknowledge this in their Dev bug reports if it was a core bug? It can be anything. Put in airplane mode and it will stop= polling data. Or one of your apps unable to update some type of content "within" the app itself

For me it turned out to be a missing account validation. I use two Apple IDs in the App Store. One of these needed a bank account validation.

I don't understand why the apple techs do not fix this. I have done Apple Feedback but nothing happens.

The hard resst only works for a few days. I have also reset my network and that only fixes it for a few days too.

Hard reset and resetting network only works for a while. Then it comes back. The spinning wheel only does it using Safari.

I have had the problem time after time. iOS 7.2. The constant loading does stop after a reboot of my iPhone, but does start again eventually. Also tried to reset my network settings and it has still not fixed the problem.

did you try Hard Reset? It worked for me. Hard Reset is different than a reboot (power off, power on). Hard Reset can be accomplished by holding down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

Hey, Doug. I stated in my post that I had done a hard reset too. It only lasts for a few days and then the problem of the spinning wheel returns. Very frustrating.
