BigGee42:

After repurchasing my subscription this morning (after Apple unceremoniously cancelled my subscription as their "solution" to the problem, without asking my permission to cancel - what wonderful customer service), I seem to be syncing fine. I'd guess that the issue was on Apple's end, given that I'm now on step 2 of 3, and at song about 11000 of 15000+ and it's still chugging away quite happily, for the first time since I initially bought the subscription. You might want to try adding more in a go? I started from scratch with my whole library and it seems to be doing ok. I'm afraid that may change though!

I was having the same problem, which started about 2-3 weeks ago. I had imported a few CD's I bought direct from a orchestra. They weren't available commercially or in the iTunes store. When I tried to match the songs, the process stalled in the same way as others reported. I talked to Apple but didn't get any real answer. Subsequently I read of a solution on another Mac discussion group. I tried it, and iTunes Match began working, and all the songs waiting were uploaded. Since then, Match has worked automatically after importing a CD, although in a couple cases I've had to select "Update iTunes Match" from the Store menu. But it is working better again.

The solution was:

1. Turn off Match

2. Go to iTunes Preferences>Advanced>Clear iTunes Store cache, and select that.

3. Relaunch iTunes, and then turn on Match. After authorizing your computer, Match should begin and complete. It did for me.

I let Apple know and they promised to pass the solution to the appropriate people.

Unfortunately this doesn't work for me - client-side changes are not going to fix what is clearly a server-side issue.

As many have pointed out - when Apple have "fixed something" the match of O/S tracks "just works..." without any changes from the client-side. This is clearly a server-side issue and the fact that Apple are totally denying publicly of the problems is embarrassing for them.

I've managed to upload a few tracks since the problems because 3+ weeks ago. But 99% of the time the whole thing just hangs.

Not good, not good enough at all. All these client-side workarounds don't work and Apple need to acknowledge and fix the issues on their side.

I agree with you 100%. When I spoke to Apple, about the only thing I got from the service rep. was that it "might" be a server side problem that Apple was working on. I tried the solution I found on another site because it seemed simple and I figured I couldn't lose anything. It would either work, or not. I have to admit I was considering just turning off Match and moving on. It was bothering me that I paid for a service that was unreliable and inconsistent. Up till a few weeks ago, Match worked seamlessly.

Even though my uploads started working again, I can no longer delete anything. My playlist and tags will not update and now I have duplicates of all my playlist. I keep trying to disable iTunes Match on all devices, deleting the accounts in iTunes store, starting over with new libraries and Match just puts all of those duplicate playlist right back. It's too broken to use. So yes, it's a **** server issue! Apple seems to have ruined what iTunes and iTunes Match could be.
