iPhone 5s, iOS 7.1
I still have the issue after updating to 7.1.1.
I was hoping I wasn't the only one.... and that it could be easily fixed through a setting. Unfortunately we will have to wait for the next update and I am crossing my fingers it's before ios8!!
I tried it and succeed to reproduce this bug. (On my iPhone 5s)
When app store closed network activity icon active on home screens again.
But then the network indicator will stop when enter any app except it's loading data.
Even I killed all apps from multitasking bar.
There was three ways to solve this prolem.
1. Open app store and install any app,
now you can close app store from multitasking bar and wait until the installation done,
2. Reboot your iDevice, hope you could solved problem right here.
Do the following step if the problem persist
3. Restore your iDevice.
Phew...I hope apple will fix it in IOS 7.1.2 .
I'm having the same issue. iPhone 5S, iOS 7.1.1
Well, it's good to know I'm not alone, but still, I wish Apple would fix that...
I have the same problem on iPhone 5 with iOS 7.1.1 AND on iPad 3rd gen with iOS 7.1.1
Hi
I have had exact same issue on my 5s. Tried chatting with apple guys 3 times. They tried every possible procedures avaliable in settings. It didn't help. I was asked to take the phone to the service centre, which I did today.
This bug appeared when I updated to 7.1.1 from 7.0.4.
The temporary fixes were
1. Restart the phone.
2. Reset the network settings.
3. Reset/Erase all settings.
4. Restore iPhone, and use it as a fresh device.
All of the above provided a couple of days.
Battery drain was pretty high.
Lets see what will they do. They are going to keep it for a week and hopefully encounter the same problem and then replace the phone. But this whole process has wasted so much time.
I have had this problem every couple of weeks since March. Shutting down my iPhone 5 and turning back on fixes it for a few weeks. But then it starts back up again. Good to know im not alone. Apple peeps best get this figured out soon. So annoying!
Which carrier are you guys on? I noticed this happen maybe once a week on Verizon iPhone 5 but after switching to AT&T I have not seen it happen, yet. My wife, who has AT&T iPhone 5s has never seen this problem.
Im on verizon
Nevermind, I just saw it on my AT&T phone, too 😟
I too have this problem.
Iphone 5c. appears as soon as I am at the homescreen. Really annoying. However, I havn't noticed if it drains battery
Switch your phone off by hold down the home button and the off bottom together till your phone goes off, after about 15 to 29 seconds just switch your phone back on this will reset the phone but you will not lost any data on your phone.
I'm also having this issue on an iPhone 5 - only displays on the home screen - would like to follow the findings here.
