Not at all. I only have Mail on my iMac and iPad.
On iPad I check mail once or twice a day and close the application right away after using.
iMac Mail checks for new mail Automatically (tried to choose Every 5 minutes - still the same).
And there's a message on iMac Mail - "too many connections.." almost constantly (even though truth be told it recieves new messages despite the warning).
When I open Mail on iPad for the first time a day it says "can't connect to IMAP using password verification". That means the maximum number of simultaneous connection already exceeded? That means iMac Mail does it because only iMac has been working non-stop lately with Mail opened.
Why does Mac OS Mail have more than 15 connections simultaneously? And why only few users have such a problem. I am sure thousands people use Mail with Gmail account and looks like not many complain.
Might it be the Mail connects to the server, checks mail and then fails to close the connection? And then later rechecks again with new connection and again doesn't close the connection? So theoretically there are 15 simultaneous connections after 15 minutes.
If that's the case why only my Mail (and Rothrock's)? How can I fix it?
Remember, few months ago there was an issue when Mail stopped receiving new mail after some time and after you quit and reopen Mail again you receive the mail. I had this problem as well. Maybe it's connected somehow.
Thanks for the discussion,
