Major Apple Mail Issues with GoDaddy

I am having MAJOR ONGOING issues wiht Apple Mail that is negatively impacting my ability to work. It's gotten to the point of complete frustration and just considering going back to a PC, it's THAT horrible.

1) I do not regularly receive emails from 2 of my 4 GoDaddy accounts in Apple Mail. Sometimes emails will appear if I close Apple Mail, and then reopen. Sometimes they never appear in Apple Mail. Sometimes they appear randomly - and sometimes they again disappear. Everything is configured correctly (and the same as the functioning GoDaddy accounts) so I know it is not the setup. I NEED TO RECEIVE MY MAIL!

2) I can't move/delete/change anything from the same GoDaddy affected account inboxes in Apple Mail. I file the emails into folders on my Mac, and as soon as I click on another message, they reappear in the inbox. Same if I delete them. I've rebooted, tried a million different settings, delete the account all together and readded, and nothing works. So I have a jumped inbox of several hundred messages, and no matter how many times I file/organize/move/delete emails, they all just go *poof* back into the Inbox. What gives?!

I am so frustrated and my inability to work is more than a small problem at this point. I work in digital marketing, so to say that I need a functioning computer with a functioning email program is an understatement. This Macbook Pro cost over $3k and is less than a year old...funny how for that price I'd just expect it to work.....

I've read through multiple threads on this issue, and tried a million and one fixes, all to no avail. Reboot. Recreate email account. Change password. Update account settings. Test different account settings. Tried with and without SSL. Sometimes it works for a few minutes or if I'm really super lucky, a few hours...but always goes back to these issues.

Is there any resolution in site?

When you move your domain to a new host, your emails will be directed to the new host. There are a few hours during the transfer that your email will not work. Plan on the move for a Friday evening or Saturday and no one will even notice.

I use Hostmonster. They are owned by BlueHost. I've been very happy with HostMonster. I have several domains hosted with 4 websites and multiple blogs. It has unlimited email. Prior, I used Pair.com. I feel that HM has better support.

I would backup all my data prior to the move. When you add your domain to your new host, you can enter the email addresses you want to use. All new mail will now be downloaded via your new server.

I had this problem and solved it by deleting/purging old emails via GoDaddy webmail. Just did it now. Some of my older messages in my inbox wouldn't delete and/or purge at first, so I had to do it several times and then make sure they were gone. If you don't need messages stored on the GoDaddy server, just go in and delete them all. I found this solution on a Mozilla users forum, then I got Thunderbird to work, then once that was working, went back to Mac Mail and it worked. Hope that helps.

My wife had a similar issue with a new Macbook Pro - the Go Daddy pop mail would not work correctly and wouldn't come in on the MBP and was deleting messages off the server, effectively incapacitating webmail. My work around is through her gmail account. I set up her two Go Daddy email accounts to run through gmail, which receives them perfectly on the MBP.

Seems work work well on the iPhone too, because the Go Daddy email still comes in on the Go Daddy email addresses and does not come in on gmail. Go figure.

It's not perfect but for now it works.

I have the exact samt problem. GoDaddy IMAP emails arrive delayed or VERY delayed (days) later in Apple Mail on my Mac.

BUT is it possible to blame GoDaddy, when the mails arrive instantly in webmail AND on my iPhone??? From that I can only assume that the mail arrives from the sender in a timely manner, but that it is Apple Mail that for some reason cannot read/receive them. (while receiving email from 8 other providers no problem).

I have had the problem since Yosemite.

I have the same issue. Worst since upgrade to Yosemite.

I receive emails almost instantly on my iPhone. But the same emails do not show up on Apple Mail in my MacBook Pro sometimes for hours.

If I use AirMail or other email client app I have no issues. ONLY if I use Apple Mail.

I have tried rebuilding mailboxes, going offline and online, deleting and reconfiguring the email account settings.

Has anyone found a good solution?

cjmillar82,

did you ever fix this apple mail godaddy issue?

My sister has been using godaddy for her business, and in Jan-2015 she had to migrate to Office365. She couldn't get her Outlook client to communicate with the godaddy o365 server, and she hates using Office365 in the web browser. So I was going to migrate her to apple Mail, but after seeing your thread, I'm afraid to do that on Yosemite. Should I be afraid?

Godaddy also told her that they were no longer supporting Notes in mail. I had to migrate her Notes from her outlook client into mac Notes by copying and pasting one-by-one.

I have the same issue. It's not a GoDaddy issue. I can send an e-mail to my GoDaddy account and it will show up immediately on the phone and for Mac Mail, I have to take the account offline and then back online. I have even had to install Postbox on my Mac and if I have both Mail and Postbox open, Postbox will get the note and notify me and Mail will not. I have to take it offline and back online.

For what it's worth, there are still issues between Apple Mail and Godaddy. Some of the same stuff (delays in downloading mail that otherwise appears rapidly on IOS devices, e.g.). In addition I find that godaddy email will download to my Mac momentarily and then disappear, only to reappear later. Sometimes months of inbox messages go missing, only to reappear when Mail is closed and reopened.
