The question is to stop no caller ID not other contacts that are not saved. I don't mind receiving calls with numbers showing it's NO CALLER ID as stated above in the original question.

Has anyone found a way???? HELP x

I have a new iPhone 7 and the do not disturb is not working.

The function stops calls with no caller ID from ringing BUT I still get a notification, I get the red circle on the msg section saying I have a missed call. It’s extremely annoying to get notifications when you don’t want to be disturbed. Anyone know why Apple have changed this function? It’s not working as I’m being disturbed.

You cannot do it from the device. However, you can contact your carrier (mobile operator) & let them know that you would like to sign up for DNC list. Make sure to tell them you do not want anyone on the DNC exception list.

So next time you will be receiving calls will only be from telemarketers who have registered themselves with DNC (hence must have to display their number) or you have specifically added them to your exception list (eg. your favourite restaurant, salon etc.). If you get more "NO CALLER ID" calls after DNC registration, you can file a legal complaint either through your carrier.

Call the police.

Caller ID is meaningless today. Anyone with a VoIP phone can make their number appear to be any number they want it to be, or no caller ID. So whether you see a caller ID or you don't, you don't have any useful information. For example, just an hour ago I got a call from my cellular provider - at least, that's what the caller ID said. A recorded message said my account had been suspended, and I would have to provide information over the phone to re-activate my account. So I called the provider directly, and confirmed what I suspected - that the call had a spoofed caller ID.

Sometimes you can save yourself embarrassment by actually reading a post or its thread before replying. How does your solution help the OP who wants to block calls that do not have caller ID (that is, how to block "no caller ID" calls). There's also a link at the top of every page to Apple's instructions for blocking phone numbers, so your post is also redundant.

Lawrence, what you say may be generally true, but not always. For months now I've had 3-4 "Unknown" or "No Caller ID" calls per day, and if I *do* answer them, thecaller disconnects. If I don't answer them, no voicemail is left me. I'm pretty sure no one hates me enough to continually pester me this way. Rather, I believe this may be a mining scheme to record voice ID data, or some other scheme I can't even imagine. I appreciate your kindness and patience to give your time answering forum questions. I come down on the side of those who want the choice whether to block unknown callers. Maybe it used to. be a "bad idea," but no longer. Apple should do this.

There seems to be a problem with your keyboard. The period (full stop) key isn't working.

Can you please retype your post in complete, punctuated sentences? It doesn't make much sense as is.

I thought when you put your phone in do not disturb and had it set up to where only your favorites could make your phone ring no car ID gets through that the only thing is changing my phone number or turning my phone completely off and I don’t want to do either one because no caller ID brakes right through do not disturb do not disturb will not stop a no caller ID call even if only your favorites can make your phone ring no caller ID gets through that do not disturb should at least block every single call that is not one of your designated favorites to make your phone ring weather it’s no caller ID or not why does no caller ID get through do not disturb and once somebody who’s bothering you figures that out the only way to stop it is to change your phone number or turn your phone completely off do not disturb when you have it set up to where only specific favorites can make your phone ring only those people should be allowed to make your phone ring somebody figures out that do not disturb does not stop no caller ID the only way to stop that person to change your phone number or turn your phone completely off

Absolutely Apple should do this.

Apple either protects the customers paying $1,000 for an iPhone or protects the scammers there is no middle ground.

This must be a 5 second fix. Make a contact name No Caller ID and then block it. Simple, easy. I always had a few calls a month in the past now I am getting them every day. For the phone companies the customer doesn't come first. There is no reason for Apple not to take this step. I don't see why an app developer can't figure this out but absolutely no doubt this is a 5 second fix for apple to do. The response I see listed to just block all calls in the contact list is idiotic. I use my phone for business. I don't want to block everyone not in the contact list I just want to block everyone that comes up as No Caller ID or Unknown Caller. PS The Apple recommendation of just setting up a contact No Caller ID and giving them the phone number 000-000-000 absolutely does not work at all.

So how do we get Apple to listen and take action!!!
