When I go to any youtube page, only a few of the thumbnails load. And the comments section never loads. This has only started happening today. Anyone know what I can do to fix this? (see two attached screen shots)

Yes, you will find a workaround solution on page 1 of this discussion, the 7th post down. It involves using something called "Feather".
I am running 10.5 with safari 5.0.6.
The same problems started few days ago.
The solution for me is:
Enaabling the Develop menu in Safari's Preferences, Advanced
Choosing User Agent in Develop menu:
Internet Explorer 9.0
or
Firefox 4.0.1 - Mac
With this seting youtube shows in Safari again properly(with all tumbnails and coments).
Good advice, though I would choose Firefox rather than Internet Explorer!
Thanks for the info. It appears that the youtube thumbnails and comments are now working, so we won't have to go through any of these workarounds. It seems that it was a youtube problem, and they have apparently fixed it.
Same issue here.. it's been happening on chrome in OS X Mavericks and on Windows 8. Looks like it's a YouTube issue and isn't related to Mac or OS X.
Try to go to Safari Preferences -- Advanced - uncheck Stop plugins to save power. Helped to me.
