Match process stalling out at end

I've been using iTunes Match for about a year and a half and have started experiencing a new problem in the last couple of days. I've added a few new tracks to my library over the last couple of days and have attempted to "Update iTunes Match." However, the matching process is stalling out at the end. It looks like it's just about to finish but then it never does. I have downloaded the most up-to-date version of iTunes, I have stopped and restarted the "Update iTunes Match" process numerous times. I have closed and reopened iTunes several times. I have restarted my computer and started over. Etc. Etc. and the same problem keeps occurring. Last night, I let the matching process continue overnight and it still had not finished in the morning. I am at my wit's end at this point. It's only 11 new songs that I'm trying to get iTunes to Match. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to resolve this problem? Thanks!

So, just had a call from Apple Uk tech support ( not iTunes ) who said she has been talking with various people within Apple and confirmed that Apple Engineers were working on the issue that appears to be effecting a number of people ( but not all ). She said that I should monitor the status of iTunes Match over the next 5/6 days but get back to her after that period if it is still not working as it should.

I had previously sent screen shots of the iTunes Match process at all stages ( including where it finally hung on stage 3 ) to iTunes tech support who said he would forward my issue including the screen shots to Engineering. He also said that ......

"It seems likely that Match is going to have to be reset at the Engineering level and have you start all over again, because of the issues you've had with it so far. This is the "big hammer" that they use when it hangs and cannot be resolved by more ordinary means, which you seem to have tried all of."

So ....... I will wait to see next steps but it may take some time.

Same here, I have a large library and every stage takes an age. I've wasted hours on this... and my last contact with support just told me to create new libraries and users. This is against a backdrop of the problems persisting on two machines and with 3 different ISPs. I can cope with outages but I really resent having my time wasted and being encouraged to take steps that mess things further up on the off-chance it might start working again.

I am not going to be re-uploading my entire library, if it gets to that point I will be looking for another service.

I have had match since the UK launch, and it really has been a pain on many occasions. Remember iOS7 update? Couldn't get any music on the phone for many days because the servers were overloaded. Now, I am in the same position, new music I can't get onto devices. Tedious!

I didn't try any of the alternatives much so far, and I am not sure if discussion of competitors is really appropriate on this forum, but a few of the big internet players offer cloud storage of music with iOS and OSX/Windows/android compatible player software for a paid subscription. And there is also the streaming services to consider.

Or just good, old-fashioned syncing music from itunes desktop onto iOS the old way. I am close to resorting to that already.
