Update this morning, deleting everything from iTunes Match after I consolidated everything I had on it onto one Machine and one iTunes library did the trick.
It did take a while, not sure how long but left iTunes Match on step 3 which sat at uploading 0 of 233 tracks overnight then woke up this morning to find that all 233 tracks waiting had uploaded.
One annoying bug that took a while to clear was playlists, for some reason despite these being deleted with all my iTunes match music they kept re-appearing for a while and duplicating, deleting the playlists from my iPhone seemed to fix this however.
Not sure if I had something corrupt in my iTunes Match library that was causing problems or I managed to trigger something else by doing that reset, however I will say it does take a while for iTunes to start uploading tracks which may also suggest congestion, it could be that the upload servers allocate slots to each client and you wait in some queue until the service can handle your request. (Would explain why some people have had luck but it took several hours before uploading).
How I Reset my iTunes Match library
- I'd always recommend downloading everything you have from iTunes Match to one machine so that you have a local copy of all of your music stored in one iTunes library on one Mac or PC. Perform a complete backup of that music library.
- Turn off iTunes Match (holding the Option / Shift key to clear its cache), Sign out of iTunes Store and de-authorise all of your PCs/Macs.
- Open iTunes Preferences / Settings on each machine click Advanced and Clear iTunes Store Cache.
- Create a new user account on one of your PCs/Macs and sign in to it, open iTunes and log in to iTunes Store then turn on iTunes Match.
- Once iTunes Match has loaded into the new iTunes library, select up to 1,000 of your iTunes Match tracks from that library and delete them.
- After deleting the 1,000 tracks selected, tell iTunes Match to update from the Store menu.
- Repeat steps 5 & 6 until all of your music has been deleted from iTunes Match.
- Delete all playlists you have (you may want to show the sidebar to do this if it isn't already enabled from the View menu).
- Final update to iTunes Match from the store menu and you should see it tell you that there are no songs available in the cloud.
Now that your iTunes Match library has been reset:
- Log back on to the computer you downloaded everything on to earlier.
- Open iTunes and sign in to the iTunes Store, authorise the machine from the Store menu.
- Turn on Genius and let it update, this may take a while but it's worth having Genius updated first before re-enabling iTunes Match.
- Turn On iTunes Match and add the device by logging in.
- Let iTunes Match run, this will take some time depending on the size of your library.
- You should get to Step 3 and it may sit there uploading 0 of X tracks after matching so many in your library has progressed somewhat if it hasn't already uploaded everything it needs to.
Let me know if this helps.
