Match process stalling out at end

I've been using iTunes Match for about a year and a half and have started experiencing a new problem in the last couple of days. I've added a few new tracks to my library over the last couple of days and have attempted to "Update iTunes Match." However, the matching process is stalling out at the end. It looks like it's just about to finish but then it never does. I have downloaded the most up-to-date version of iTunes, I have stopped and restarted the "Update iTunes Match" process numerous times. I have closed and reopened iTunes several times. I have restarted my computer and started over. Etc. Etc. and the same problem keeps occurring. Last night, I let the matching process continue overnight and it still had not finished in the morning. I am at my wit's end at this point. It's only 11 new songs that I'm trying to get iTunes to Match. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to resolve this problem? Thanks!

Update on Apple UK supports telephone call this evening from Greece (always makes me laugh - phone call from 2000 miles away claiming to be UK)

After several failed instructions my ITunes account is now in recovery mode with Apple, awaiting the engineers tomorrow to investigate further. Had to reset my password to one that I was given in order for this to happen.

Latest complete statistics from me :- In the last 4 weeks I have tried to input -

a) 826 albums of which

b) 250 albums matched in their entirety and

c) 576 albums failed to match and stalled on step 3 awaiting uploading of an unknown amount of tracks.

Unable to come back with how many tracks out of the 576 unmatched albums actually needed uploading due to the hanging.

I subscribed on the 27th May this year, and within 5 days of usage here we are totally disillusioned with Apple, frustrated with the lack of support and now being told that I have used ITunes match for 1 month and a rebate will be pro-rata.

The top and bottom of this is that the software is unfit for purpose.

Just short of 70% of attempted album inputs have failed either to match or upload, that is some success story Apple!

I'm in the same boat of just about everyone else. After several weeks on slow or no matches I got 3 CD's to match/upload. Sunday I ripped another CD and the 10 songs appear in the cloud, but won't play. If it goes like it has been recently they will eventually show up. This of course is not how it used to work. I usually could see the matches happening within a few minutes of ripping a CD. In the meantime either play my local music, or use Amazon's player where I've been buying CD's for a higher resolution rip on another HD for local/home listening on a headphone rig. Two libraries, the one I am attempting to use iMatch with is regular ACC.

With the loss of MOG, and my dislike for Beats streaming this issue with iMatch is driving me to seek another cloud solution for both back up and streaming to my Apple devices. Last year I got the infamous stuttering music using iTunes on my Mac (eventually after 3 months fixed only through an Apple Care replacement of the iMac). I hate to whine, but I just want to enjoy the music. I'm wondering if I need to break out my Headroom bag with old fashioned CD player 😉

Just adding myself to this post in the vain hope that a fix will appear sometime soon.

I did manage to add most of a cd over the weekend, but it left two tracks in "Waiting". My renewal was yesterday too so I'm stuck with the flipping junk, but am starting to look in to Google Play. Anyone know if it can match the itunes library from songs that are in Apple's cloud (ie not on my local drive)?

Right so it looks like after 2 days of trying to add that 1 track to my Match Library of over 9000 tracks I must have had a lucky break and randomly selected a server that was working.

Seems that some servers in the 17.154.65.XXX range resolve and let you upload, but most of them don't. Just trying to add another single track and its now mot even getting past Step 1 now before timing out.

What's the email address for support again? (Sorry, I know it's probably been posted multiple times by now)

I figure I'm going to email them and point them to this thread, as well as many of the other threads on the forum (it seriously looks like most posts stem from the same issue right now) and ask how they can possibly ignore it, tell them I've tried all the steps, etc. Can't hurt to keep the pressure on.

Right so after getting 1 successful upload of one of my personal Mixes last night I decided to try and upload some other music. I purchased 4 albums from Juno Download and sorted all my tags out and added to iTunes hit update match and waited. They were double CD albums and it did Steps 1&2 and then went to the usual "Uploading remaining songs and artwork", this was still going 2 hours later and I just left it over night.

In the morning it had matched 7 out of 8 and had crashed, strange that it hadn't uploaded them like it said it was doing. So now I have set it off again and am waiting for the 1 remaining album to upload or match (they are full DJ mixes as a single track that's why there are only 8).

The 7 that did match I was able to download one of them to my phone this morning but I have no artwork for any of the 7 tracks even though they are matched.

Back to the drawing board I guess and just wait for Apple to sort out these rubbish servers of there's!

Hi jsc909,

Not sure if this issue is localised to a geographic area, would be interesting to find out as it may offer a little insight into the cause or at least pinpoint the source of the problem.

I've not added anything new to my library today however I did reset my iTunes Match account a couple days ago by deleting everything from iTunes Match after downloading all tracks from iTunes Match to one of my machines, I also routinely signed out of iTunes Store & turned of iTunes Match on all of my devices before setting up a new user account on my Mac, signing in to iTunes Store & iTunes Match and deleting everything from the cloud version of my library. This seemed to do the trick as I successfully uploaded all tracks and matched my entire library after doing this.

I've only added a few tracks since and all of those tracks matched with iTunes Store versions so I've not had anything to try uploading recently.

Deleting everything from iTunes Match and resetting the cloud copy of your library is a bit excessive and luckily for me I have a fairly small library at the moment as I've not added all of my music to iTunes yet.

What is more frustrating is the lack of any acknowledgement from Apple about this issue. It's as if they're not bothered which is a shame really. Fingers crossed it gets sorted soon, other options out there from Amazon and Google are starting to look more attractive as time goes on.
