YSloader.exe and distnoted hogging CPU

When I start Itunes (currently using version 11.3.0.54, 64 bit, Windows), YSLoader.exe (32 bit) starts using ~14-15% CPU (I guess it is maxing out a thread/core?).

The only way to get it to stop hogging CPU is to close Itunes, then kill YSLoader.exe (or distnoted, see below) using Task Manager.

If Itunes is open when I force close YSLoader.exe (32 bit), then another process takes it place as the CPU hog: distnoted (32 bit). This process also sticks around a constant CPU usage of 14-15% until I kill the process.

When I force close distnoted, it's replaced by YSLoader.exe and so the loop continues until I close Itunes.

I did a complete uninstall and reinstall of Itunes using these instructions:

Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

I also tried "netsh winsock reset" - didn't help.

I've tried playing around with different sync settings in Itunes, enabling/disabling wifi sync etc, nothing seems to help. It doesn't matter if my Iphone is connected to the computer or not.

I have tried disabling my antivirus temporarily (Kaspersky) - this made no difference.

So right now I simply have to avoid using Itunes, or at least close it immediately when I'm not using it, which is quite annoying as you can guess.

Using Windows 8.1 64 bit

If anyone knows a solution or have some tips to try, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey,

got to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support

look for distnoted.exe and right click on it. on the compatibility tab (click change setting for all users if you have that option); then check run this program in compatibility mode for: and select windows 7. also check run this program as an administrator. click apply then ok

This seemed to fix the problem for me....let me know if this helps

Latest test on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit with iTunes 12.2.1.16 and Kaspersky Internet Security 16.0.0.614a; still the same stupid processor load issue with Distnoted.exe, MobilDeviceHelper.exe and SyncServer.exe.

This thread is continuing now for more than one year with no solution and even worse no statement of any Apple employee. Is this forum just for users or are there Apple support members answering too?

Windows 10, Kaspersky 2016: SyncServer, YSloader.exe and distnoted AGAIN problems over 1 year !!

AGAIN want to report as many others in the past a problem with Apple's iTunes services SyncServer, YSloader and Distnoted and Kaspersky Internet Security 2016, where these services are hung in the process, consuming a lot of resources, such as high porsentaje of CPU.

this can not be !!, and a new Windows 10, KIS 2016 and iTunes 12.2.2.25 and have not solved this, it's amazing, earliers posts give this solution is:

"Run as administrator services and change the compatibility mode"

but for me this should not be!

I read many post, Kaspersky blaming Apple for not implementing improvements so they do not have problems with scanning technology and Apple post saying the problem is Kaspersky. It's ridiculous, I think we users must push for this to be resolved, so that our experience with these two softwares are as enjoyable in a Windows environment.

Thank You

I'll put the link to post in both Apple and Kaspersky and old post on the subject.

Well, this is my 2 cents:

try to RUN SyncServer, AppleMobileDeviceHelper (located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support)

and YSloader, Distnoted (located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support)

AS ADMINISTRATOR but without change the compatibility mode!

I'm on Windows 10 Pro x64, KIS 2016, iTunes 12.2.2.25

and this fix the problems here.

Hope this helps!

The latest IOS update released week of 1/22/16 seems to have fixed this issue. Once i installed the IOS update on my iPhone 6 Plus via iTunes (12.3.2.35 64 bit) running on Windows 10, the problem disappeared. Just to make sure i disconnected my iPhone from the PC and monitored the Disnoted and other processes that were hogs, and all are running at ZERO utilization, until i plug my phone in. This is the way it SHOULD have worked from the beginning, IMHO.
