I too hated this among other aspects of IOS 8. The horrible slowness, random crashes of facebook and other apps, complete hangs of applications. Trying to use bluetooth to make calls only to have it make the call and then disconnect my headset. The worst hanging and slowness was Safari. All of things things combined with the loss of photo roll led me to revert back to 7.1.2. I can hardly wait for the fanboyz to start ranting at me, telling me you can't safely roll back an IOS update and that my phone must be too old. Here's the deal. Lots of us were using iPhone 5,2 quite successfully, with good performance and no crashes under 7.1.2 prior to this abomination of an update. I'll be quite frank, this update was not ready for release, period. The product manager should be fired along with the release manager that decided in spite of the BAD QA feedback from the testers, that the update had to go live. Steve Jobs, god bless the man would have fired the whole **** team responsible for this embarrassment.
