IOS 8 lost camera roll

I just did the IOS8 update on my Iphone 5s and now I have no album for camera roll and instead it has 'Recently Added' which only has 25 photos instead of my 1000+ photos I had originally before the update. I still have all my photos on the collections bit but not in an album like before the update.

Help please?

Yes, it has changed. The Camera Roll is gone. You can make your albums as before.

However, I think they could fix a lot of this by simply putting two little transparent icons on each photo. One could represent a phone and other a cloud. This tells if you if the pic is on the phone, the cloud, or both. Then, if you click and hold on the icon, it opens either the camera roll or the photostream... whichever. In any case, if they're going to do this moments crap, they still need some sort of a visual reference to indicate if the photo is on the phone, in the cloud, or both. Bad move Apple. :-(

Tell Apple, not us.

Yes, both Camera Roll and Photo Stream are gone. Probably one of the most annoying things that Apple has done recently, beside generously imposing U2's new album on everybody. I must say, the photos app is extremely less user-friendly now because of this update. Although you can still create an album within your photos app and name it "Camera Roll" for example, you would still have to manually add every single picture you take (which will show up in your "recently added" album) to this custom album you created called "Camera Roll". This update has ****** a lot of users off to say the least, and Apple is not listening.

I believe that a close reading indicates that he did, in fact, tell Apple. In addition to telling us. It is an interesting suggestion and I appreciate his sharing it.

Won't do much good telling us about it. That is why I suggested he contact Apple feedback yet again. The poster gave feedback to Apple, but from how it reads, it was not with the info he added after the statement.

On the contrary. It does quite a bit of good to tell us. He has presented an idea that isn't simply a complaint, but rather a suggestion which the rest of us can consider, and if we like it, we too can propose it or a variation to Apple via Feedback in the hope that Apple will adopt it. He is helping, not just criticizing or scolding or offering gratuitous and repetitive comments.

Yes, what a unique idea. Putting more crap icons over photos. There are many third party apps that do this for you. 😉

In the native Photo app, to show which are in the cloud and which are local? I'd snap one up in a minute. What are their names?

Wow Pete!! Negative much! I didn't realize when I replied to one comment I was going to get very single message from this thread. Apple may not read these threads but they do know about them. I'm going to have to figure out how to stop getting message alerts from this thread. I sure hope Apple does fix the Camera Roll but since they put out an update and didn't bring it back I'm doubting they will.
