Upgraded to 8.0.2... Still "no service".
With regard to cell phone, I abandoned Apple products two years ago, because new uptades made my Iphone 3 useless (in terms of telephone speed)... Now I think it's time to say goodbye to Apple once and for all...
It's clear, after Steve Jobs, there is no room for Apple anymore...
it is now the 29th of September and there is still no permanent fix for loss of service BUG on Ipad 2, it looks like its time to bin off my trust Ipad 2 and buy a Galaxy Note, another Apple ios 8.0.2 major fail!!!
I also updated to 8.0.2 on my iPad 2, but it still reverts to "No Service" after being in sleep mode. Tired of rebooting; will try some of the suggestions in this thread.
Apple needs to read all the comments and acknowledge there is still a problem with the latest update and fix it. Glad I didn't update my iphone.
I was glad to see the 8.0.2 update become available. It shows that the Apple engineers are hard at work to address the bugs. Being a patch, it went on smoothly. Will see if that does the trick.
8.02 did not solve the problem for me anyway. Waiting for 8.03...
I have an iPad 2 with SIM because i need data when there is no wifi. With the new iOS8 and updated to iOS8.0.2, my iPad 2 still showing NO SERVICE. I have seen many people around the world facing this problem and i am amazed that APPLE has not noticed or have chosen to ignore. There is no acknowledgement that they are aware or any planned given to fix the problem. It is such a disappointment when can to support. Total silent and no response.
8.0.2 did nothing. I changed the location services thing mentioned in prior posts. Seemed to work then ultimately No Service again. Downgrading now. Apple clearly does not give a rat's behind about iPad 2 users at this point. Nor does AT&T.
I also have the same problem with my IPad 2, what I found is that if you plug it into a USB port (not the charger) it imediatly acquires cellular service, obviously this is not a solution but in some cases is faster than reboot it. Waiting for 8.0.3 update.
Does that mean that Apple has acknowledged the problem and is fixing it in 8.0.3, or is that wishful thinking?
I don't know if they acknowledge it, neither if they are fixing it with iOS 8.0.3 (I hope so), but since this is a fórum supported by Apple and it has more then 150 post, I prefere to think that they're working on it.
It still doesn't work 😟, Steve come back....
TToday Apple said they are working on ios 8.1 let's hope they get it right this time.
Can just confirm I have the same issue and none of the suggested fixes works in the long run.
I have the same problems!
Doesn't work for me. I don't even have iCloud on.
