I have same problem. I lose 3g and have to reboot to keep it. Seems like after a period of time I lose connectivity.
I Have been struggling with this every day since the first ios8 upgrade. Today i decided to upgrade some apps, LinkedIn and iConnect Devices and during their install my 3G flipped back on from "no service", and, belive it or not, it has been stable for more then 6 hours now. I've made several wake/sleep with my cover and it is always working now. I have no idea what happened or why but it looks promising.
I wonder how long we will be paying for cellular service to which our iPads cannot connect.
Hi All
As a bit of an update, I connected my iPad 2 to my PC last night to update my music library and since then My 3G signal hasn't dropped out to No Service, which is a plus, although every time I use a program that uses GSM 3G it says " Cellular Data Plan Usage, There is no data remaining on your plan. Would you like to add more data now? The issue is, I have loads of data left, I have also loaded MORE! data just as a test and it makes no difference what so ever!
My supplier is O2 UK
Not just ipad2 problem.
Have you tried disabling iCloud Drive from trying to update when connected via cellular?
Settings > iCloud > iCloud Drive > go to bottom of screen and switch off 'Use Mobile Data'
This worked on iPad 3. I've switched between wifi and back to cellular and so far it's still working
This seems to work! I did it this morning and it's kept cell connection all day.
Sorry to be the one to tell you, but this is an older idea, posted here on earlier pages. It does not work. Nothing posted on this forum works. Tomorrow, your "No Service" will return.
I have same issue. Called Verizon and went to store. They told me it was beyond them and to go to Apple. Went to apple today, they did a complete wipe, and a firmware update, nothing. Their suggestion, since I didn't buy applecare, was to purchase a new one....... No problems until after the 8.0.2 update, now I need to purchase a new one? this makes no sense to me
Does anyone know if any other version of the IPad is having this issue? like the IPad 3?
So I'm guessing Apple aren't looking into this and the only solution is to upgrade/buy a later model IPad.
AApple is looking into this. An Apple rep called me to get some information. I think the ios8.1 fix that they are working on will fix it. The only iPads that are affected are the ipad2. I rolled mine back to ios7.1.2 any version 8 will make your ipad2 run slower.
Can you explain how you rolled back to 7.1.2??? Not sure how to do it. I don't have a backup on my computer for that iOS version. Thanks in advance.
same here. I have called Apple 4 times. They said remove the SIM card. Did that and still having the same problem. I wonder if there is a way to go back to the old operating system for my iPad.
Same here. Can you tell me how to roll back to IOS7.2? I am NOT replacing my ipad2 and I have spent way too much time on this. Any help or instructions are appreciated.
Thanks!!
