No service on iPad 2 GSM after upgrade to iOS 8

Apple has engineers working on this issue. I know; I've been contacted by them to get logs and details. I recommend that anyone else that is contacted respond with all the information they can. That way, the engineers will be able to track this down and resolve it. The more information they have, the fast they get to that solution.

My iPad is still having the issue. Seems like it drops once a day. After a reboot, all is normal.

I have spoken with Apple 4 times, and have heard back from no one, so that is really good that you have. Constant rebooting couldn't be good for the ipad in general. I ordered the iphone 6. When it arrives it will stay in the box until this is resolved. I will be keeping my faithful iphone 4. 😠

This has worked twice for me. I go to settings and choose icloud, then the 3g goes searching and I get 3g service back. Quicker and easier than rebooting. I also used to change the language from English to English (Australian) and this worked to, but took a bit of time.

I just tried your suggestion but still no service. Apple seriously needs to address this, or pay our wireless bills.

I'm from Brazil, and the same issue is occurring with me. Since ios 8 my 3g service crashes and only doing a reboot it comes back. Apple didn't fix it yet? Other thing, safari java scripts not working since also.

Hi Everyone, 2 weeks ago i posted that we can go to Apple feedback to log the problem. Apple has contacted me to assist to track with a software loaded into my ipad. I hope the log created will provide their engineer in resolving the problem.

Same issues on iPad 2 on 8.0.2. None of the suggested fixes do work, except shutting down and restarting. Then no service keeps coming back. In addition there are some major bugs - calendar, mail and safari keep crashing. Apple turned off signing of iOS 7.1.2, so no way to downgrade. What were they thinking. We are hosed...

Well here is another UNHAPPY Apple customer. No remedies described work in order to get the 3g back. And I also went to the provider, which didn't find anything wrong with service. Then I tested the SIM card on the iPhone, and there it gets signal... I am suspicious that Apple fried my radio module with last update...

So unfortunately, nobody is learning anything from these issues and we are all still buying their products...

Actually, something worked for me. I had turned "use cellular data" off in iCloud settings wherever I could find it, but that was not enough. However I turned off all available sliders on the first page of iCloud settings (calendar, mail, contacts, notes, reminders, safari), and now I have been fine for a day and a half. So the only thing I have left on in iCloud is Photo Stream (which uses WiFi only) and Share My Location.

I have completed my log tracing and with the help of Apple support staff David, uploaded the file for Apple to investigate. Hopefully they will be able to solve our problem. He might or might not call me back depending on the investigation. But once i have news will share with every concern user. Wish us luck😉
