No service on iPad 2 GSM after upgrade to iOS 8
Anybody have the same issue or a solution. I have done all the support tips restore etc.
Same problem over here.
Rebooting seems the only option.
Apple needs to quickly fix that one...

You could be correct. I have wifi and the office and at home and use cellular data very infrequently.I cleared and re installed my profile at work and now have an iPad message rather than "No Service" When I turn off wifi, the cellular does not pick up hence -- No Service.
Same problem here with Rogers 3G in Canada - thinking of rollback to 7.1.2
When i am at work i usually use the case and i lost network conection about 3-4 times. Later that day, at home (where i usually don't use the case) i never lost signal...
gonna ma levar it without the case then i'll get back to you...
I did hard reset and now it works
Same here as well. Must be a feature? Once a restart is done it comes up then the next day its off again, restart and back on.

You can try to reset he network settings in general-->Reset-->Reset network Settings. For me worked well. Be careful, all wifi password are cleared
Restarting the iPad is much easier as I have rebuilt the device twice with same results and different setups. Most certainly will be waiting for 8.0.1
The procedure should be done only once. On my iPad 2 the problem is no longer occurred after the network reset.
So far this only occurs once a day. Guess we'll wait and see Monday.
I performed a network reset several times and it does not permanently resolve the issue for me. It only resolved it for about 4 hours or so. It seems like every time networks switch (from WiFi to cellular or vice versa) while the iPad is in sleep mode the 3G network doesn't seem to be able to pick up the network.

here's what I ended up doing. I don't know if this is a real solution but my iPad is alive again
- restored the ipad
- setup as new device (no backup restore)
- went through all the iCloud steps etc (still no service)
- Switched off all Cellular options
- shutdown ipad
- hold down home button while connecting to iTunes ( iPad in restore mode)
- restored iPad, EU-internet option disappeared??? and 3G was back
- restored iPad and put iCloud backup back
- everyhing still works
The strange thing is that the eu-internet option is gone. Apple? What's up?
Here same problem! Reboot the device every 4 houres. Its ridiculous.

Apple is still signing iOS 7.1.2, so downgrade might be possible. How about stay low till Apple fixes the iOS 8 issue?
