Havent read through all the messages but a reboot kinda works if you are desperate like i am. I am travelling for a few days and don't use a mobile. My iPad is all I need to keep in contact. When my ipad status changes to 'no service' I have found a reboot has worked 4 out of 5 times today.

when I return home home I will explore the option to restore my device back to 7.

I'm seeing the same behavior. Seems like the reset action is just a temporary fix. The problem resurfaces when the iPad 2 comes out of Sleep mode. Checking Cellular Data settings, they are as follows:

  • Cellular Data: On
  • Data Roaming: On

I wonder if the Cellular settings could be tweaked to resolve this. Will try some variations to see what effect it has on this problem.

none of the workarounds (resetting, etc) worked so far - they are all temporary at best. I ended up rolling back to 7.1.2 and the problem went away. Just remember to putt your iPad in recovery mode (turn off, hold home button and plug usb cable in) otherwise yup will get stuck with error 3014. Don't think apple tested this iOS release well for older devices

Mine has gotten into the boot loop as well. i had tried to reset network settings since reboot got cellular working but then it kept asking for my wifi password, would not connect even though password was correct. I put it in airplane mode and NOW it has cellular stuck in airplane mode with the switch for cellular greyed out. IOS 8 was released to include support for ipad2. So far it's not working.......Apple needs to fix this ASAP. S much for quality control.

And of course it won't let me upload a screenshot of it From the iPad.

Update...

So I go to do a restore and it prompts me to turn off "find my iPad" under iCloud. I have it connected to my Mac mini. So I got to settings and try and turn it off but it keeps failing saying no connection. I go to wifi and it's not connected. I toggle just the wifi button and it connects but at the same time, cellular comes out of airplane mode. Uh, WTH......

i think think ill try and go back to 7.1.2 at this point. 😟
