II'm having the same problem except when mine says no service and I reboot the iPad 2 it says I have full service but it still doesn't work.
Same here, hard reset required to restore - if I toggle airplane mode or cell service on and off, does not help
Same issue on my iPad 2. AT&T told me to change my SIM card, guess what STILL GET NO SERVICE. Very disappointed in Apple. It use to be you can count on Apple devices to work, no more. Guess we have to wait two months for a fix now. Way to go Apple.
PS, my iPad 2 is also running a lot slower. Give me back ios 7.
I have the sane problem with the IOS 8 upgrade.
IPAD 2 , TIM Italian provider.😠
Hi All, I have the same issue on my iPad 2. I'm from Hungary and my service provider is T-Com/T-Mobile. Urgent reply from Apple is badly needed since I am using also my iPad for daily work.
Hello! I'm from Italy and I'm experiencing the same problem.
That's definitely a bug. I've tried to reset network settings without success. Btw, if you go to Settings > iCloud and wait for a couple of seconds your connectiom should come back to life. At least that works on My ipad 2.
Apparently our two choices are to go to the Genius Bar and be told we're out of warranty sorry or wait on it to eventually, if ever, be fixed. Let's be honest Apple doesn't have a good track record with caring about compatibility with older devices. I'm just gonna take it back to 7. As if the multiple iOS 8 bugs on my iPhone 5 aren't bad enough.
Same problem here with my iPad 2.Cellular drops out after a short time. Only shutting down and restarting iPad restores connection. Thought it would be worth adding another iPad with this problem so that Apple can see how many people are affected and prompt them to put out a fix.
Good luck everyone.
rfc60, I think ipad 2 is one of the most popular version among the iPads. So this should be enough to be done the necessary by Apple. Btw if this is a supported product than it is a must to eliminate this serious bug.
Exacatly the same fault here in UK (GiffGaff). I have call booked with Apple tomorrow as I think I bought one of the very last iPad 2s! We shall see what they say....not a lot, probably....
Same problem in South Africa on the Telkom Mobile cellular network.
Where is the feedback from the Apple admins?
Earlier I posted that my problem was solved by hard reboot. It was not. The "No Service" returns within a few hours. (AT&T iPad 2 in USA.)
Today my 3G signal re-appeared when I plugged the iPad in to my Mac to sync it with iTunes. That was 5 hours ago and it's still there. I will monitor the issue and post if it goes away again. This is the longest time the signal in there since I upgraded.
They probably have no idea what to do about this bug
Wow...just tried that and had the same result! What on earth.....??? Anyway, 3G back on, for now....
