No service on iPad 2 GSM after upgrade to iOS 8

Mine says "No Service" as well and when I shut off WiFi that is exactly what I have. NO Service.

Wow I have tried to do a sync and it is working, GSM has come back. Let's see it after couple of hours.

A bit more investigation indicates that switch on and off the ipad works but also plugging into a laptop with iTunes .... Can someone advise whether a revert back to iOS 7 is even possible I started the process but stopped when iitunes said revert to iOS 8. I can't seem to access my backups if iOS 7

OK - I rolled back the OS to 7.1.2 and things seem to work better and I do have cellular data back but apparently you lose the find my iphone app when you do this because it "requires a newer OS" which is crazy because I had it before.

A Reboot gets back the 3G, I do notice that when I do a reboot, I get the apple logo, then the screen goes black, and I have to power up again before the iPad turns on. Anyone else getting this?

Yes same result for me.

I Tried a hard reset and so far two days working OK. to do the hard reset hold down the power and home buttons until the apple comes on the screen, then let go. Do not do anything until the iPad come on by itself. It will take a min.

I have attached to iTunes my iPad 2 last evening and the mobile network has been back since that time. Hard reset is also a possibility I think.

Yeah, attaching ipad to iTunes seems to fix the problem. Thank you.

Hi, one bad thing... The iTunes procedure is faile. I did it, but after 6,5 hours. No Service has been appeared agai on my display.

I Continue to have the same problem. Why did Apple make the upgrade available to Ipad 2 if they knew thee were problems?? Come on Apple, tell us how to resolve this problem. I cannot use my Ipad seamlessly if I need to repeatedly reset the network and then enter wifi passwords. This is beyond a joke! Is Apple trying to force us to pay them mega bucks for a new model Ipad??

Hello all - its been about 16 hours since I connected to iTunes and the 3G signal returned. My Ipad is now constantly connected to 3G and I'm having no further problems with signal. Having scanned a few other threads, this fix seems to work for PC and iMac users and also for the majority - have seen one reply suggesting it hasn't worked for them on a permanent basis. I'd welcome a comment from Apple about this - seems very odd!
