Hello all - its been about 16 hours since I connected to iTunes and the 3G signal returned. My Ipad is now constantly connected to 3G and I'm having no further problems with signal. Having scanned a few other threads, this fix seems to work for PC and iMac users and also for the majority - have seen one reply suggesting it hasn't worked for them on a permanent basis. I'd welcome a comment from Apple about this - seems very odd!
Reset network setting and see it works or not.
Well I synced yesterday evening with iTunes and this morning at home all seemed fine.
I commuted to work and when I arrived checked my iPad: No Service.
So this fix doesn't do the trick neither.
Apple needs indeed to come up with a fix pretty soon...
Hard reset is also not giving the solution. I did it, but the issue has come back again.
I too have the same issue with my iPad 2.......................Will APPLE sort it out asap....coz its killing
Have been connected for approx. 12 hrs now. This is in one location - home, not moving around. So, it seems some people are staying connected after restarting iPad etc, but others are continuing to have problems. I wonder if strength of signal has any bearing on issue?
I'm experiencing the same problem. Apple please help us out!
Same problem here in Brazil! iPad 2 + iOS 8 = No Service...
As mentioned previously, the problem seems to occur when the cover is closed and the magnets put the ipad to sleep. If the cover is left open, and it goes into sleep mode on a timer, the problem does not occur. (One images a large Apple QA room with lots of tester using ipads, none of which have covers that are closed...)
My hard reset worked for 2 days, this morning NO SERVICE. Think we got a rotten Apple...
Same problem, after a hard reset the problem returns. No signs of when or how, it just loses service randomly. - South Africa.
I did the iTunes sync and that bought me a sustained connection thru few sleep sessions, then no service - only lasted a couple hours
Follow up to last post. Sorry to report have now lost cellular connection. Lasted about 16 hrs. Guess I am going to have to keep using temporary fix of restarting iPad until Apple provides a permanent fix.
I just submitted a complaint. I recommend everyone do the same. I don't think anyone from Apple reads these, other than for entertainment purposes. We are just complaining to ourselves. They need formal complaints to skyrocket so they do not ignore the issue!!
The tunes trick didn't give me a permanent fix either. I have 7 days left of my Apple warranty ⚠ so I put in a service call today. Restored as new device as per their instructions and it has made no difference, so it's off to be repaired or replaced. Given this thread isn't mad busey and a google search for the problem throws up very few results, I'm wondering if we are an annoyed minority!?
