No service on iPad 2 GSM after upgrade to iOS 8

I Gave up. Called Apple care and the dont even know about the problem. I went back to iOS 7.1.2 and everything is working.

Same problem no service, I solved this way: go to settings, privacy, location, system services, research off the cellular network. if you work out let me know thanks.

I disabled it and my service come just back. Thanks 🙂

"research off the cellular network"? I don't have that... I have "Cell Network Search". It was on, I turned it off. Nothing happened. Did the service come back on it's own? Did you have to on/off the unit?

On my iPad it came back on its own.

I Tried this went to cell network search and turned it off my iPad started searching right than and locked onto a full signal. But a couple hours later it was Back to no service again so this time I turned it back on it searched again than I had service again. It is not a fix but if you keep turning it off and on the signal seems to lock on everytime. Until Apple fixes the problem this will have to do.

Apple just came out with an update, but reading what it does, it does not look like they addressed our problem. Anyone try it yet?

Where do you see the update? I cannot see it after selecting Software Update. I have already given up all suggestion as it doesn't work. For the past few days i just use Wifi. If i am ever going to get another iPad (for my children) it will be just Wifi and hotspot.😠

I just read that Apple has retracted the update again because there were a lot of connection issues. I wouldn't install it until it's re-released.

I have checked solutions here and there is one issue which probably solved my problem:

- I have turned off sleep/wake up mode caused by magnetic cover. Settings-general-sleep/wake up mode.

tthere is almost 48h from this move, and iPad 2 is working non stop without "no service" information.

Solution for everyone: erase the firmware path to the Windows system from c :, user name, app date, Apple computer, iPad software update, delete the ipad 8.0 firmware ipsw,

close all connected iPad to iTunes restore will download the firmware again revised 8.0 from Apple that fixes various bugs. tested and working. Have a nice day.

Robybuk, you earlier suggestion has worked for me. That is: go to Settings, Privacy, Location Services and switch off "Cell Network Search". I have had 3G on now for 24 hours.

8.01 was pulled when it caused the same problem for the 6. I guess it was fine to cause this for iPad 2s but not the shiny new 6.

In any event, is it possible to unsubscribe from this thread? It's killing my inbox lol
