iOS 8 alarm sounds not working

Solved okay guys i had the same problem now I read the other solutions none of them worked for me either. Basically I had been having this issue since the latest update I guess but I had always been using my clock radio till it broke so I did not pay attention to it. Also I had been using the paid sleep cycle app. Anyway I decided to go back to my phone alarm and it didn't work the first day then the second then the third. The part that drove me crazy was like many of you I tested the alarm during the day and of course it worked. I asked a few "experts" who all said they never had that issue and thought I was either sleeping through it or grabbed it at night and turned it off. So I came to this forum and followed the instructions as stated by previous posters which is good advice and it worked for my brother at first anyway as was also having alarm issues and should be tried first basically 1. Turn of the side switch alarm silencer and put the volume all the way up.

This worked for my brother but not me so I decided just to be safe to set the phone alarm and 2 different iPads at different places in my room to all ring with the above settings and low and behold NONE of them worked the subsequent morning. 3 silent alarm screens I finally had enough and went to the store and bought a new clock radio with a battery backup for $15 and that solved my problem. So I advise everybody to go out and buy a clock radio for fifteen dollars........ ......No but seriously I tried a million combinations and what worked was deleting my sleep cycle app off of the phone and yes I tried all the setting combinations. It came down to one or the other. So I deleted the sleep cycle app and everything works again. Unfortunately if you don't have that app it could be a different one. Probably start by deleting any 3rd party alarm app. I don't know why this issue is happening now when in the past I could set both of them and they would both go off. Please keep updating this thread if you find other apps other than Sleep Cycle that cau this glitch. For my brother it was the espn app causing the problem.In the meantime do yourself a favor and buy a clock radio.

Mine doesn't work either. No alarm goes off

This did;t work for me. Not only does Alarm not work. Timer also does not make the sound I programmed. It actually makes the first note of he sound and then stops. Not a good thing

I updated to iOS 8.4 and it removed my alarms and my music. I have loud music set to my alarms so that I'm sure to wake up in the morning.

After the update my alarm no longer went off with my love music. In fact it didn't go off at all. I lost my job. Apple you owe me a job.

iPhone6, IOS8.4.1, Sprint; This problem started for me about a week ago with the last update. The sound "Classic-Alarm" plays for about 1 sec and then stops. The message on the screen indicates that the alarm is still sounding and to tap for snooze. It is still enough to wake up but if it wasn't for my wife's traditional alarm clock I would discontinue using the iPhone as I no longer trust it to do its job. I'm assuming this is something to do with the update process and will be deleting all of my previous alarms, establishing new ones to see if that works. I'll check back in a couple of days with status.

Deleting all alarms and setting new ones solved the problem for me. Thanks.

GO to alarms,press Edit,press the alarms one by one and you will most probably see that some of them have: Sound-None. This is why there's no sound. Set the sound you want and you're good to go. Hope this helps.

I Found that the easiest way to do this is to set your iPhone to sound and activate the "do not disturb" feature. There is only one problem which I will point out - People who call you twice in a row will get past the do not disturb feature.

This can be changed in settings (Settings>Do not disturb>Repeated calls)

Totally same thing happened to me this morning, lucky I get use to the wake up time so I were able to wake up this morning, but the alarm have no sound is very inconvenient

I had the same issue just now I figured it out, turn off vibrate on ring I think that will fix it

Same thing happen to me today! I was messing around with my phone and I clicked turn off vibrate on ring and it works now :)

This happened to me and I just fixed it all I did was turn it FULLY off and then turn it back on and it worked perfectly xx

Go to settings, sounds, slide the slider to lowest then back up. Then shut off toggle just below it that says "change with buttons" and turn back on and it should work again. Try it out
