For me, wifi syncing worked after the IOS8 upgrade. It didn't stop working until the OS10.9.5 upgrade. Once I upgraded to 10.9.5 I've been able to get it to work until I shut down the computer. Once I boot up again, syncing doesn't work. I've tried reinstalling iTunes, unselecting and reselecting sync over wifi, and several other things. Most of the solutions work fine, until I shut the computer down, which I do whenever I leave the house or at the end of the day.

This is very frustrating as I have 3 different devices I'm syncing and only 1 USB port available.

Ok everybody here is a solution to use with iOS 8.0.2 until Apple fix this with an update.

BEFORE wishing to sync over wifi with iTunes from your iPhone, turn your iPhone off completely...Then restart it up.

Then connect to your usual WiFi network on the iPhone, then open up iTunes on your Mac etc.

Now you will see that iTunes will find your iPhone with no problems....

This solution is only temporary as approximately 4 hours later on if you try to sync wirelessly again with iTunes and your iPhone you will sadly discover that iTunes no longer finds you iPhone, in which case you will need to shut down your iPhone again and then restart it, make the wifi network connection on your iPhone and then open up iTunes again on your Mac

Not ideal i know.....but apple are working on it....

There is no need to Backup/Restore iPhone/Restore Backup data process...it will not make any difference and does not fix this problem which incidentally affects iPhones predominantly and only some iPads.

Of coarse you can simply continue to use the USB cable option to your Mac from your iPhone which works fine with no problem. But here i was just trying to address the WiFi method with a temporary fix. Cheers everyone...!

Hope this helps everyone.

The point of my message that you responded to was to make sure the previous poster was actually talking about WiFi syncing, not all syncing.

Also, you mention problems with "a number of apps." Which ones? I'm not seeing issues except with a few apps that needed to be updated for iOS 8. Lots of apps have been updated even though they weren't "broken" in iOS 8 (maybe 20 so far for me). Many apps get updates whenever every new version comes out. That's not a buggy iOS version, that's app developers tweaking to take advantage of the new iOS version or to fix something in their app that doesn't comply with the new iOS version.

I agree with your post, let's keep this thread on topic. WiFi sync isn't working as it should.

Here's another clue. As a test, I synced my iPhone 6 with USB. I unchecked Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi. I unplugged the iPhone, then plugged it back in. Sync with this iPhone over Wi-Fi was checked. So I think it's not iOS 8 alone, but also something going on with the current versions of iTunes.

Totally agree with your last statement. Never had a problem until the updates with iTunes 11.4 and iOS 8 although the wifi syncing stopped with iOS 8.

As fas as the apps, yes quite a few. Updates coming all the time but feel more than adding features is just correcting issues that iOS 8 introduced. Will sure be glad when all this is fixed. Right now the user experience is similar to what I have with my work phone and tablet running Android. Not good. Give me back the quality and performance of Apple and I will be a happy camper.
