iOS 8 wifi sync not working

Just updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 8 and my iTunes to 11.4. I'm unable to get my phone to connect in iTunes using the WIFI sync now. I've tried unchecking then checking it to see if would get it working again but nothing is getting it to work. Anybody else have this issue?

This is a bug in iOS 8 - 8.0.2. If you power off your device then power it back on again, the device immediately shows up in iTunes and wifi sync will work again.

However the fix is temporary. For example if you reboot the Mac that is running iTunes, the device will no longer show up in iTunes and you have to turn the phone / iPad back off / on again to get it to wirelessly sync.

USB sync works fine.. Sometimes deselecting / reselecting the wireless sync option gets it working again. Powering the device off / on is quicker and easier though.

This affects all of my iOS 8 devices, iPhones and iPads. The only device that does not have this problem is an old iPhone 4 that is still at iOS 7. That device has never had any wireless sync issues and it continues to work perfectly fine with iTunes 11.4. It's an iOS 8 bug.

So no updates still?!? This new OS is a total S H I T show. I have to turn my iPhone/iPad off/on still AND go into iTunes before my Mac can see it via wifi. Every. Single. Time. And this is just one of its many screwed up issues. How about it's tendency not to rotate when it should? Or that my iPad rings sometimes when my phone rings. Or that I get texts on my iPad but same texts don't show on my iPhone. What a nightmare.

I have an iMac, iPad, iphone, iphone, and Airport Extreme router. All Apple products.

I was on the phone with Apple support for 2 hours. They got information from my computer. Apple engineering claims the problem is in my network. They want me to be on the phone for another hour or more to fix it. This doesn't make any sense. If it was my network, why would my wife's iPhone running OS 7.x work fine and my iPhone and iPad running OS 8.0.2 not work over wifi unless I turn them on and off and on again?

I've always had this problem with my ipad 2 and Air.

It worked intermittently but a reboot would fix it. Now since 8.02 nothing works, the gesture bug drives me nuts, but I can not wifi sync at all now.

This is probably the crappiest IOS I have ever used since 2008, lets hope some heads rolled and they got their act together, this is a premium product, I don't mind paying Apples fees because normally it is a smooth ride for most things, wifi sync has been around a while now, they should have it working regually by now as it is a pretty important function.

Now it's working again, updated to iTunes 12.0.1 and boom! I can sync again my iOS8.0.2 devices.

I haven't yet gotten any of my 3 devices to show in itunes 12 on wifi.

Without the sidebar on itunes 12, how/where do the devices appear when available on wifi?

Is there a way to see the content on the device like you could on itunes 11 by expanding the device.
