And it is very possible this is not an AirPrint issue, but a printer issue with the release of the updated software, and that could require a firmware update for the printer. Has anyone checked with Samsung? I helped another poster in past iOS updates with an HP that required a firmware update on the printer which fixed the issue right away.

The same reason that I answer other posts, an attempt to help other users, which is what this forum is, a user to user forum. No, I am not an Apple employee and never have been. I responded using logic based on the responses from others. If the printer needs a firmware update, then it needs an update, no matter what brand it is.

Problem was caused by Apple with IOS8 update, not samsung, or dell, or brother, etc so it should be fixed by apple, not samsung.

Of course it is nice if they do it and update firmware so that our printers are again compatible with apple, not sure if they want to do it or is it right that they have to carry the cost because apple changed their software. If the change was made with some purpose apple should have told to printer manufacturers that ok now you have to update your firmware before they launch IOS8 and we could immediatelly update our printers. Now the value of our investment is 0 if we use IOS8.

Worst what could happen is that apple says this samsungs fault and samsung does the same And no one fixes this problem for us. This is the reason I don't like when someone says apple does not have to fix this, problem came with apple update so apple has to take care of it, even it means they have to tell printer manufacturers to change their software, responsibility is apples, airprint is apple standard they have to take care it works, they have also listed compatible printers on their site and now that list is not true any more. Apple can fix this if they like because everything works with IOS7. So push apple to do something with IOS8.03 OR co-operate with printer manufacturers.

Since downloading ios8 to one of my iPads, samsung printer M2870 won't print while it will from another using 7. An HP 7510 works but is very slow to start. The Samsung did work once after I rebooted everything as suggested, but then stopped again. This is obviously an Apple problem, and I would not recommend anyone use os8 until Apple gets it's act together. This os rollout has been a disgrace...similar to Obamacare. I cancelled my iphone6 order.

OS8 must have been developed by the Obamacare team. I downloaded it to one of my 4 iPads and since have not been able to print on my Samsung M2870 while I still can with those using 7. I tried the rebooting suggested, but that only worked for one session, then stopped. I a an print from an HP 7510, but it is very slow to load. I wish I could go back to os7. I cancelled my iphone6 order.

I've tried pushing Apple on this but they won't budge: they are now telling me that the AirPrint compatible printer list on the Apple website is also not their responsibility. This site now shows several models of printers as being compatible but that will not work with iOS 8. I have suggested to Samsung that they get Apple to change it; Apple say the list is no guarantee and they just put on there what manufacturers claim they can do. This means anybody now buying a printer who has installed iOS 8 has no idea which printer is likely to work... Apple's website is now misleading to say the least, and it makes AirPrint a complete joke as a robust printing solution.

Samsung seems to be more user friendly than apple. Got even a mail and give some hope...

Thank you for your email.

Our Air Print compatible printers are compatible with IOS7 and below at the moment, due to IOS8 being new and research needs to be carried out into the compatibility between the two devices. We advise that customers use the Samsung Print App during this time of incompatibility.
