wifi issues with iphone 6

Hi All,

Is anyone facing the issues with the wifi on iphone 6? I was connected to wi-fi but after I restarted the router by powering off/on, I wasn't able to connect to the wifi until I restarted my phone. Also even after toggling the wifi on/off on my phone I couldn't see any wifi signals where as I am supposed to see atleast 10 signals. Can someone please tell the steps to resolve this issue? Is this an hardware or an software issue on the phone?

my problem is exactly the same as dbdev7. It started as soon as I switched to the iPhone 6. It's happend at home and work, so it can't be the network or router. Plus it doesn't happen with the two iPad air's or the iPhone 5s on the same network. Toggling off wifi or turning on airplane mode does nothing. It still shows no wireless networks in range. The only fix is to power off the phone after that my network along with all others in range show up. I just now did a hard reset and reset my network settings. I'll see if that solves the problem.

Exactly the same for me. Definitely not a router issue, nor an iOS8 issue as iPad is fine, iPhone 5 is fine and the problem occurs across multiple WiFi locations.

It's also only pot luck as to whether any of the resets work...sometimes it does, others it takes about 10 resets/restarts. Absolute disgrace that issues such as these crop up without any official line/apology/solution coming from the company 😠

resetting my network settings didn't help. when I got to work this morning I re-entered the Wi-Fi password for that location (it had been deleted because of the reset) within 15 minutes it dropped Wi-Fi and was back on LTE. I tried to reconnect but it showed no networks in range once I power cycle the phone all networks in range showed up again and I was able to reconnect. I'm calling Apple now!!

Apple Support didn't seem to be aware of the issue. Or not willing to acknowledge it. I offered to send them the URL to this thread. LOL. He wasn't interested. 😀

Oddly after restoring to plain iOS 8 and confirming the problem could be re-created with none of my apps or data, I then restored to the backup I made just prior and now my phone is staying connected now. Makes no sense but its definitely staying connected now. Shrug.

I took delivery of an iPhone6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Setting them up at work BOTH could not connect to our Airport Wifi. It seemed to associate but the phone couldn't get an IP address. all other phones and devices can connect to the Airport devices. Trying various methods including clearing settings, reloading from scratch - none have worked. I think it's a problem with the iPhone6 rather than iOS8. At home the 6 Plus is doing strange things with WiFi, dropping connection to my car's wifi, slow or bad connectivity etc. to home WiFi, Basket case on the WiFi front!! Hey Apple!! how about a comment?

Same issue here. Wifi drops, and now there are no signals showing up in the scan. Brand new iPad, iPhone 4S, and brand new MacBook Air are all picking up signals in the exact same location. The standard router resets, (I actually did a hard reset on my AirPort Extreme), don't change anything.

Now the question is, how long have I been sucking up cellular data in my house before I noticed the wi-fi drop? This kinda stinks.

Im having the same wifi issues on my iPhone 6 as well, but only on my home router. Its an older Linksys G router but all my other wireless devices work fine. What's interesting is the iPhone is blazing fast when I connect it to my wifi at my job. Its a much new/nicer router than I have at home but my 5 didnt have an issue and my macbook pro works fine ad well. I do hope its not an iPhone 6 issue.
