Iphone 6 touchscreen/keyboard issues

I HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION TO EVERYONES PROBLEMS! I've been so annoyed by the laggy keyboard and multitasking after restoring my phone from backup on iTunes and also on iCloud. What seemed to be the solution was going into RESET and resetting all setting. That literally fixed up all the lags! Let me know if it worked for you guys too!

Make an appointment with an Apple Genius.

Resetting all settings appears to have solved this problem for me. Am still keeping my Genius appointment tomorrow, however.

Reset all settings worked perfectly for me as well. Thanks for the suggestion. I spent hours setting up my new iphone 6 and i wasn't looking forward to doing it again on a replacement phone.

Two things works for me:
1. hard reset - holding on the power and home button for a few seconds

2. disable reachability under Accessibility

No need to reset all.

I have tried all the "tricks" turned off reachability, reset all settings. I REALLY REALLY REALLY do not want to restore my phone and set it up brand new that will take me all day. And "ain't nobody got time for that". UGH

UNRESPONSIVE AREAS ON TOUCH SCREEN & KEYBOARD ISSUES FIXED

1. Turn off Reachability (Settings>General> Accessability)
2. Switch to Standard (instead of Zoomed) display Mode (Settings>Display & Brightness>View)
3. Hard Reset

This is working (so far) as a work around. My thoughts are that the zoom feature causes the issues with unresponsive or "soft spots" on the screen.

Hope open this gets resolved in the next update. My 41 year old eyes really liked the zoom feature.

Sometimes the space bar is slow to respond (still) and I get a second letter capitalized when I doubLe tap for a period. <---it just happened there. Capital letter in mid word for no reason.

Going to try turning that off next to see if it helps and do another hard resTart. (Dammit! Did it again!)

I have the same problem. when i type on my phone, there's be missing letters or spaces, as if I've missed hitting some keys. First I thought there must be a bug in the IOS then I thought maybe it's because the screen is bigger and my fingers aren't used to typing on the new screen. But then I see a lot of people are having the same problem.

I think it's great that some of you guys did the reset and/or set up as a new phone and it helped with the issue. BUT I refuse to reset my phone. the whole point of having the iCloud back up is so I can restore and my new phone will work just the way I'm used to and like. resetting it doesn't make any sense. I am just hoping Apple will catch up with this common issue and fix this bug SOON with an update.

I had the same exact problem. Even returned my iphone for a new one at the Apple store. Same issue.

Hard reset - no effect.

Reset all settings. This seems to have fixed the issue. Much zipper response now.

turning off reachability fixed this problem for me. thanks jackiepanpan. i hope apple fixes this so we can turn reachability back on.

Hey guys I need help urgently! just got my iphone 6 and it was perfectly okay the whole day when I used it. I went to charge the phone a few hours ago and when I started using it, the sensitivity got all crazy on me. the scrolling wasn't smooth and was all laggy and it auto selects without my fingers touching the screen! Also, the keyboard messes up as I type. I need help please! I've already tried hard reset AND resetting all settings but I'm still facing this issue.

Same issues here with the keyboard. The keys "q" and "a" don't work at all, it's not even possible to type in my WiFi-password to setup my phone. Think I'll try to change the phone at the genius bar. 😟

Same problems for me. In landscape mode ONLY the screen will become completely unresponsive. I have to switch orientation then switch back.

Will try the reachability trick.
