iPhone 6 Motion Calibration Always Using Location Services

I don't see any change after 16 days since I made a restore (dec 12th), MC is still on all day long.

Restored with no backup on december 12th.

Try this: Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Location & Privacy

I seem to have made a little bit of progress with this issue concerning Motion Calibration and Location Services.

Things I tried (and didn't work):

• Reset Network Settings
• Power cycle (duh!)
• Soft reset (holding sleep and home buttons for a few seconds)
• Complete wipe and restore

What seemed to work was something very simple - I turned off Motion Calibration and this removed the Location icon from the home screen. I turned it back on and the Location icon came right back. I figured this was just the (iPhone) life condition and put my iPhone down for a bit (about what it takes to make a cup of coffee). When I got back, I picked the phone back up and noticed that the Location icon was gone! I went back to check if Motion Calibration was enabled and it was.

What I've noticed since then was that the icon does pop up every now and then (perhaps when calibrating motion?) but clears itself after a few minutes. Perhaps this is how it was always supposed to function but the icon never cleared itself; either that or Motion Calibration truly didn't shut off. I will attest that regardless of everything else I did, I never thought of just "turning it off and on again" for Motion Calibration (i.e., disabling and re-enabling Motion Calibration).

Every night before I go to bed, I close all apps and put the iPhone down (home button face down) all night long, it doesn't work.

When you turn off the iPhone and turn it on, you'll see that MC works for 10 seconds ~ but after a while it comes back to be there forever haha.

Just turn 'locations services' off and on again fixed the problem for me.

It worked for me as well.. Been using for only 15 minutes still. Can poeppe confirm if it sticks for longer?

Also, I did as u said on 3G. Any reasons it won't work with wifi on?

I can confirm that on WIFI it changes to "always on" after an hour or so, i will check on LTE or 3G.

So guys, i think i found the solution. I uninstalled Health mate. This was the only "health app" that i was using and it seems that it was causing the problem from the start.

Hi, I don´t think the app you say causes the issue because I don't have the app but I have the location always on.

Indeed after 2 hours it's on again 😠
