iPhone 6 Motion Calibration Always Using Location Services

As I've already posted, it needs to do it almost continuously, because your step size changes throughout the day, and varies with your walking or running speed and where you are walking. For example, you step size will usually be different walking in a mall than it will be walking from the mall to your car in the parking lot.

Almost continuously or ALWAYS?

Why CM counts my steps if i disable physical activity detection?

Why CM counts my steps if my iphone is on the table?

Why CM needs to be ALWAYS in use only on iphone 6 & 6+?

There are many questions about CM, but no one serious answer.

I asked for help to applesupport and I'm waiting for the response technic. Next week they should answer my questions, i hope.

This method worked for me in the sense that now the icon disappeared from bottom!! But when I go in the settings show me that is alway on. However the icon appears when something else use position, but never for motion calibration!

1. Reset Network Settings

2. Reset Location & Privacy

3. Shutdown & Start the iPhone

this is the method that worked for me.

After a "reset location & privacy" icon status bar is disabled by the settings of the system services that use location. Make sure you have it enabled. And wait at least 2 battery cycles to confirm that this fix it.

This looks odd but by following this method fixes the issue for those who do not want to see location services icon always on due to motion calibration.

Also I see there is huge improvement in battery life by turning off wifi and turn on only when required.

I think there is some relation between this wifi on and motion calibration.

This method works.

If your MC is in infinite loop, disable it, turn off wifi and wait a bit (at least 30 sec). Turn on MC and it's unblocked.

Turn on wifi only when you need it.

There is no correlation between anything! I had the same issue and at some point MC decided to work fine! For 2 months or so MC was only on occasionally. Up until 8.2. Now it is on constantly again, I haven't changed a thing! Really ******* me off now tbh

Apple's engineering department told me that MC isn't affected by bug, and on its devices all works fine (MC no always on). the engineering department said they had never heard of problems with other devices. they claim that it is a problem with third-party application. I'm still investigating...

For me, it was an app that was doing "Background app refresh".

Turned it off and solved the problem.

Unfortunately, it was a false alarm... It's back...

Observe MC locked is difficult for normal user because location status icon for system services is disabled by default. Experience teach me that MC stay always on only if wifi and frequent positions are both enabled. On new devices or recovered one MC initially works fine.

I dont think is a third-party application problem and is important to know if all iphone 6/6+ does it or only some devices.

I don't know how to explain you that it's a bug and that they don't delete my post.

Here's my evidence "wich is none": I'm a developer and it's simple, after number 1 there comes a number 2, after that there comes a 3, what you say it's normal is not present on my iPhone. You are now with 1 or 2, I'm with 3. If it were normal it would be present in my iPhone and it is not.
